Hey guys I am desperate for very high resolution/quality satellite maps, I use Placemaker and I also use Nearmap but the resolution is not that great, I have tried using AI to upscale but that too does not really solve my issues. Is there another solution?

Hey Mike, I'm sure you figured this out already, but when you first create the attribute type a number with the inch mark like 0" or 0' in the value box and hit enter. This will set the unit for that attribute to inches. This only works for the first time a value is entered. After that first initial value, you will need to use the attribute info dialog to make changes. In addition, you can use 0 to set it to text (not "Default: Text") and 0cm to set it to centimeters. If anyone knows a shortcut for setting the unit to Decimal Number, I would love to hear it!

Well the way I make a surface a plane is to use the rotated rectangle, pick three points that should lay on the same plane. This makes a rectangle that is a least a flat plane to three of the points. Then I offset the rectangle until it covers the area I wish to cover, then intersect with model, and pesto, a flat plane. Note, if the flat plane does not connect to all the edges, you will need to move the plane to connect to all the other surfaces, or modify the surfaces that don't connect to the plane. Ken

@macker said: I was using multiples of 1024. What an odd issue to have. [Edit] HAH! The issue comes back if you use styles. Brilliant. Surely trimble must issue a fix for this? Well, if you change styles, then this pattern works: 1024, 2048, 4086... I have no idea but it works like this! Edit: False alarm! I had tried that in a rush and it doesn't really seem to work with styles

The advice re scaling up small objects before attempting to chamfer them then back down again after is golden. This nearly drove me nuts before I read it.

Mystery to me. So far when I use SU everything I select goes into a group. Otherwise I think I'd go mad. I especially like "Group and delete" to clean up drawings and usually the edges are contacting non-selected geometry.

Doesn't the library no load all items direct from the 3Dwarehouse? The Components Sample has some framing objects.

I just did some more testing and now have a clue as to what is happening. I has to do with the complexity of other objects in the model. When I started the testing, I just entered a bunch of 2D text instances. As the number of entries increased, I saw some very minor slow down so I then went and added my normal car wash equipment to the model. With the addition of each piece, particularly more and more complex ones (equipment with many component instances) adding additional text object began to slow down. It started taking even longer to edit existing 2D text instances. So, it looks like the more complex the model becomes, the longer it takes to both add and edit 2D text instances. It also seems like editing existing instances takes longer than adding additional ones. Maybe TIG will be able to address this in some way. As I said in my earlier post, I had reached a point where it can take 4 to 7 minutes to edit a 2D text object.

Just to catch up with this thread, I haven't had any issues at all since disabling Autosave. So imo it is definitely a problem with that function.

@juju said: Personally, I'm always super careful to supply the actual models / CAD files to work as it may lead to unintended use thereof. There is a plugin that ruins the model without looking like it's ruined. It triangulates it and moves every vertex a tiny bit around randomly so a pushpull can no longer be performed or every edge is out of place just enough that moving is awkward and it renders the model useless for anything else but display and measure. That might be handy on those scenarios: http://sketchucation.com/forums/viewtopic.php?p=163921#p163921

Didier Bur Ben oui, c'est ça l'idée! In English Me : Can we expect , for example, add exported pages to an existing animation? Didier Bur Of course, that's the idea! But seems the "Pages Export" don't work! File "*.su" is not created! (array_to.rb is installed) It's the same for you ? PageExIm used to work fine for me but I think it has been updated to work with 2017. EDIT: I have just checked the Smustard website and PageExIm HAS been updated for 2017. Sorry!

Oh God! Such an idiot. I'm going to kill myself. And I've been painting and repainting, exploding and grouping for like 40 minutes. I feel like such a fool now. And I'll post in v6 from now on, update my profile etc. Thanks Box, thanks Pilou.

@charevir56 said: If I understood what you are after, I will do this way: uncheck the shadows setting in axonometric scenes scene with the shadow setting: before set the shadows setting turn off all layer and set day/time/light/dark/... and check all setting. Every time you select this scene your working area will be cleaned. But if you want to use this scene to add the shadows to the current view of one of your axonometric scene, Set the shadows setting and uncheck Camera position and visible layer. In 1st cases when you update the shadows setting you won't see anything, but when you select one of your axonometric scenes they'll show the shadows setting. In 2nd case the shadow scene will add the shadows to the current scene In the same way you can create a scene to clean the shadows: turn off the shadow and check all setting but the visible layer. This scene will turn off the shadow in wherever scene Is selected. Attached file Sorry for my English. thanks, charevir. your English may not be perfect but the explanation is very clear! I have always being able to set this up but then could not all of a sudden. go figure that. the file helps a lot too. I am sure others will benefit from your explanation. best regards.

They are definitely guidelines. However, I solved the problem by changing to the wireframe option in the Styles menu, select all, then View>Hide and switching back to the default styles. Lines gone.

Please clarify what you mean by "how I'd like". It can be done without a plugin or extension. First, the material needs to be applied to the faces and not the group or component. Expose Hidden Geometry, right click on a single face and choose Texture>Position. Rotate it as needed. Then turn off Hidden Geometry, use the Materials eye dropper to sample the material where you just rotate it and then immediately click the paint bucket on the surface to apply that material orientation. Alternatively, you can apply the material to another face in the model that would get the same orientation and sample that before applying it to the curved surface. I used these methods for the rush seat on the chairs and the legs on the table. [image: 11416850996_695e552ea0_z.jpg] And on the curved surfaces on this post. [image: 8511785423_9b3ca804d5_z.jpg]

try if installing the Windows runtime libraries required by SU v2016/2017 again helps: • Microsoft .NET Framework v4.5.2+ • Microsoft Visual C++ Redist. 2015 • Microsoft Universal C Runtime Update f. Win 7/8.x always run these installers (as well as the SU setup) by "r-click > Run as Admin".

Thank you. I guess when I do want to erase specific lines, I don't find it to be a problem. Since I do most of this sort of work on my PC at home, I'm using Paint.NET as my image editor but I have PS on my work computer and PSE on my MacBook Pro. The process is the same. I don't often find a need to erase overlapping edges. The thick ones mask the thin ones anyhow. Well, except in some sketchy styles but those tend to have really loose lines and having multiple lines generally works. [image: 13189648465_a36b29b396_b.jpg]
