Hey guys I am desperate for very high resolution/quality satellite maps, I use Placemaker and I also use Nearmap but the resolution is not that great, I have tried using AI to upscale but that too does not really solve my issues. Is there another solution?

Hey Mike, I'm sure you figured this out already, but when you first create the attribute type a number with the inch mark like 0" or 0' in the value box and hit enter. This will set the unit for that attribute to inches. This only works for the first time a value is entered. After that first initial value, you will need to use the attribute info dialog to make changes. In addition, you can use 0 to set it to text (not "Default: Text") and 0cm to set it to centimeters. If anyone knows a shortcut for setting the unit to Decimal Number, I would love to hear it!

to size the window proportions right for any exporting, i usually go to the export jpeg options menu, set the desired width, then keep resizing your sketchup window until the desired depth appears (guess and check style). Very annoying! anyone have a work around? kannonbal, your trick is pretty good but still doesn't let you set the window to the exact proportion you need. It would be nice if you could do it all in sketchup.

Pixero, The only thing that comes to mind right off hand is checking to see if you have permission to run ActiveX controls. If that's not the problem, then I was wondering if you could zip up your PowerPoint and applet and send them to me to check out (my email address is listed below). I'm sure that we can work this out, I just need more information to go on. Abe Megahed CTO, Hypercosm megaheda <AT> hypercosm.com (608) 229-2829

Sounds like the image is bigger than the plane you placed it on. I usually create a flat surface and add the texture. I then 'resize' the surface to fit the image, i.e instead of the multiple tiled images you get. I then group it and 'rescale' it to fit the model.

Lots of very good input here. I have faith in the new forum looking excellent. I was also a fan of the look of the old forums also, they where nice and streamlined with a professional look.

Some program code may be corrupted. If so, there's a repair option for PCs that's worth looking at http://sketchup.google.com/support/bin/answer.py?answer=36209&query=repair&topic=&type=

@chris fullmer said: Thanks for the nice comments Edson. I think your link you posted is pointing to the wrong place. That file is not on my server I think you uploaded it here: http://www.sketchucation.com/forums/scf/sas/ProUser/sitetech.skp Chris chris, you are absolutely right. i assumed you were referring to kelly's server and did not even bother to check it thoroughly. thanks for calling my attention to it.

Excellent. Any chance I can have you zip up that script directory and send it to me? I'll PM you with my contact info. We did make some Ruby changes in the latest release and maybe there is a bad interaction with one of your scripts. I can check it out and let you know. P: TriciaS

haha, great pic Solo! @kwistenbiebel said: Sorry guys but does 'Rhino' refer to 3D in any way? I mean, a rhinoceros is not exactly sexy ...(at least not to me) What about 'MOI', which just means 'me' in French... Or 'Maya'...which is a comic figure (a bee) from the eighties. Well, no those names don't really have much to do with 3D CAD (although MOI stands for Moment Of Inspiration which is at least aspirational), but importantly, Rhino and Maya are just cool words in English. Not only do they sound cool, but one is nature's tank (panzer), a beautiful, fast, fearsome beast and the other is an ancient civilisation renowned for incredible surveying ability, stonemasonry and workmanship. Ketchup is not a cool word, nor a cool product and SketchUp is frankly the sort of awful pun a 5-year-old would laugh at. Wow, I'd forgotten how much I disliked the name! :eugeek: Jackson

This is definitely growing to some really interesting thing - thak you all - and fortunately not "for money"! TIG: I tried that (thanks) but now I don't really have a "problem" but just a "curious phenomenon" (is this a proper term in English though?) that I'd like to understand. I'm already starting to enjoy the thread (actually that's what my first intention was... ) So again, thanks for all looking into it! Gaieus
