@Fiona The Layout Spellchecker uses Win 8's cross-app built-in Spellchecker. So a Win 7 equivalent is not possible as that OS has no built-in Spellchecker. However, I have Win 7 AND I have Spellchecking/Auto-correction in all apps - including Layout AND SketchUp ! This is done using an AutoHotKey tool. I have actually made it into an exe which then auto-loads from the Startup folder as Win 7 starts. Then in any app, as I type it is checked and corrected. I can add new rules using Win_H key combo... UPDATE: I figured out how to get Sketchup cameras in Fusion. In the 3D scene import options of Fusion, the title starts with FBX so naturally I thought that format was a necessity. Turns out I could use a 3ds, obj, dae, etc. through the same import options so I exported a 3ds from SU and it worked. Just reporting this in case anyone is also interested.

Good work. So remember to draw on Layer 0 only, make a component or group of the geometry and assign a layer to that component or group and everything should go smoothly.

Thanks in advance. Generate Report just prints out the attributes you have attached to Components in your model, it does not do math. To report calculated values such as summed lengths of Components that are labelled a particular way, you will need to create a custom Ruby script. There is info about how to do so using attributes here: http://www.sketchup.com/intl/en/developer/docs/tutorial_attrreporting Alternatively, you could generate a report in spreadsheet form and do your own calculations there. You could also get a spreadsheet from the CutList plugin. Or, as Kris points out, there are several kitchen design extensions/plugins that might do the work for you. There are two aspects that might be downsides depending on your desires: many of them are not free, and you usually have to do the entire project within their system.

seems like she has 10.7 or lower which is not supported on v2015... if the hardware or circumstance forbids an OS update then SU v2014 or lower is the only option... in either case, contact Trimble citing OS incompatibility and ask for a 2014 pro license in exchange... she'll have 12 months to upgrade for free if needs be... john

Thanks TIG. Length snapping was off. I was working in a normal Architectural scale, not micro small objects.I realize one can only zoom in so far. I have experienced problems in older versions, sometimes really large, complex models that caused similar issues. My best solution was to save file. Then reopen. No problem after that. Perhaps a plugin I used caused the strange behavior. Thanks for the advice and tips.

thanks again for the replies. no problems with "hijacking this thread". I myself found the automatically created backups lil bit useless. my macbook pro only have 256GB ssd hard disk. it definitely takes up space. my dilema is I dont think getting a better computer is right for me yet. updating to mac pro is too pricey. i love macs though. updating to custom built pc or hp z workstations or any high end pcs are still pricey based on the minimal or low demand 3d interior rendering jobs im doing.

Thanks for your reply pcmoor, i found 2 red #. The function of the subcomponent referred to a variable of another head component. And i forgot to define the x position of 2 pieces. Now it seems to work fine. I just need to add the position for the keys, because they are scaled with the door panel and i want them always off the same distance off the side.

And you didn't read this thread before posting in it because it has been explained, above. On the PC, it is under your username/App Data/Roaming/SketchUp/SketchUp 2016/SketchUp/Plugins. It is located there because Windows set security so users can't install files in directories in Program Files and way too many users weren't able to figure out how to change permissions. The "criminal mind" as you call it also made it so that you shouldn't need to access the Plugins folder directly by offering the Install Extension tool as well as the extension Warehouse. And for extensions available here on Sketchucation, there is the Plugin Store tool which, like Extension Warehouse installed extensions/plugins automatically.

same here, but also for the .skp files. Even with a new created 2015 pro version models i am forced to open in 2014 so i get an error. If i can not solve the issue (since i do not want to run 2015 version and then open the file via browsing or from the list below every annoying time) i guess i am going to uninstall the 2014 version. Any help will be very appreciated.

Actually, redefining thumbnail on save has an effect on performance. If you have autosave setup, it's remaking a thumbnail every time it saves. On some systems, probably lower ones, it can slow down workflow when autosave initializes.

Turns out there were more resellers in the Netherlands who were having problems. They blame their distributor. After 3 weeks (21 days) I know one reseller that started passing codes. Later that week (25 days) mine came through.
