Hi everyone. Thanks all for sharing your ideas and solution. 👍

I just discovered that 2024 is now versionless! Good, thanks Sketchup developers.
I guess this will apply to older versions after 2021.
I only tested with 2023 and it can open without issues. I dont have legacy programs anymore so I cannot comment about it.

Just select all of the edges by triple clicking with Select. Right click and choose Weld Edges.

Sketchup Select By Area Sizes Topic is solved ... (My sketchup is set to meters so this will select faces with area of more than 100 ...When the Select tool is active, you can select multiple entities in any of the following ways: Click love language test and drag to make a temporary selection box around the items you want to select - When you click and drag with the Select tool you create a temporary selection box. the Object Selection tool (W) from the toolbar in the workspace. In the Options bar, at the upper-right corner of the workspace, ensure that the Object Finder is enabled. Hover the mouse pointer over an object or region in your image you would like to select.

maybe add some keystrokes to the preferences to switch between hidden line, x-ray, and wireframe - e.g. ctrl+alt+H, ctrl+alt+X, ctrl+alt+W -- caveat you need to switch to a solid to get out of wireframe (so i use hidden line and then i can use x-ray again) (and toggling x-ray yields a full solid vs x-ray 😄 )

Its called a boolean operation. If you have SketchUP Pro is has Solid Tools which can subtract solid objects from each other.

If you 'subtract' 1 from 2 you get 3

OK. That's helpful and thanks for updating your profile.

So in order to prove that the shadows are a reasonable representation of reality, perhaps you could geolocate a sample model at the offices of the government agency and show the shadows for the current date at a specific time. Maybe use a flag pole on the site so they can compare the image to what they see when they go out there and look at it.

Reminds me of a project I did for a client in Maine some years ago. I'm in Minnesota and at the time I was working on the project I'd never seen the site. The city folks wanted proof the dimensions I was giving them from the site were accurate. I created a simple drawing of their municipal building (which I had also never seen in person) and told them how long and deep it was. That convinced them and my client prevailed over a contractor who was providing extremely inaccurate pencil sketches.

It could be useful indeed. In the meantime, if you've got a mouse with extra buttons you could assign the keyboard shortcut to a button.

The recommended glue for floating installation is Tongue and Groove engineered flooring glue. Glue placement is very important. The glue must be placed along the topside of the groove the full length of the grooved side and end.he answer clicker counter to your question is yes you can relay the flooring but it all depends in which way it was laid originally and how successful you are at lifting the floor. I hope this helps is specifically formulated for all types of engineered floating wood and laminate floating floors, even over radiant heat systems. It provides a superior bond at the tongue and groove. Due to its white color, the glue is easy to see for quick cleanup.

    Agreed
With SU now having tag folders the list of tags can be quite extensive in a large model.
Highlighting the tag of the component you have selected would be huge help and save A great deal of frustration.

A realistic grading for structures and other applications is not frequently produced by the stamp tool. You must be very knowledgeable about grading and practice it yourself. Thank you for the advise; I am aware of such extensions. I'm just trying to talk about an incredibly crucial tool.

Shadows are expensive in any real-time engine whether photorealistic or stylised. Unless they implement a cascade type shadowing method you see in game engines then the long waits will always be here.

I hoped we would see a 'smart' shadowing that culled shadows to those visible in the viewport camera.

What I tend to do is set cast shadow/receive shadows off in places where shadows do not need to be calculated. Only thing is this setting is not saved per scene so its like chasing your tail.
