Hello, I need some help :

      sketchup stl 2.1.4 plugin
      sketchup 8.0.1
      snow leopard

I grouped a very simple geometry, checked with solid inspector, exported in ASCII, and get terrible results when importing the .stl file in sketchup. The size of the object has been divided by ??% and sketchup is trying to correct the geometry, adding uneccessary lines.

      Here's the .stl http://www.filedropper.com/microsembasesansjeu

So actually, here's my question : is the new file different from the original or sketchup doesn't read it properly ?

I've not downloaded your stl, but I exported as STL with mm and import works as expected. What do you mean by "terrible result"?

Sorry I updated the 1st message, so the geometry is scaled down (3.937008% of the original) and skechup is trying to correct the object. It actually works fine if I scale up the object, it just adds a ton of lines, but as I said in the update, the file itself might be just fine, I really don't know if I have to correct the scale before the conversion or not.

re-update : you solved the main issue ! Exporting in mm prevents the scale mod.

I'm still curious to know if it's just sketchup that needs to add all those lines when loading the .stl or if it's normal, any idea ?

For me the imported STL has the same scale as the exported model...
The model gets triangulated for the STL file format (normal behaviour). You can use Thomthoms plugin cleanup to delete those lines.
