@Rich-O-Brien Thanks Rich. Now I know that I can share the link with Fredo6 on the Animator thread so he can download the file and look at it (to hopefully identify the problem I have been having trying to generate a video). You might also try generating an Animator video and see what results you get.

Hey guys I am desperate for very high resolution/quality satellite maps, I use Placemaker and I also use Nearmap but the resolution is not that great, I have tried using AI to upscale but that too does not really solve my issues. Is there another solution?

Hey Mike, I'm sure you figured this out already, but when you first create the attribute type a number with the inch mark like 0" or 0' in the value box and hit enter. This will set the unit for that attribute to inches. This only works for the first time a value is entered. After that first initial value, you will need to use the attribute info dialog to make changes. In addition, you can use 0 to set it to text (not "Default: Text") and 0cm to set it to centimeters. If anyone knows a shortcut for setting the unit to Decimal Number, I would love to hear it!

I completed your questions, but then wasn't too sure if my answers, or lack of answers would help you. Decided to post anyway. Sketches become Cadd plan. The Cadd plan is used to create a 3d model (with sub blocks of all interior and exterior elevations). The Cadd model is further organized as blocks (SU components) to organize textures. The model is ported to SU for visualization, and presentation. Typically some kind of animation, and quick renders. All design revision are done in Cadd then ported to SU (as revisions to components) so that the Cadd database is preserved for production drawings. I find this process faster then designing in SU in order to port to Cadd. I do not depend heavily on plugins, and try to use SU as it was created to aid in visualization, and presentation. Various render, and post processing software. Nothing, except for a small library of components, and materials that I like to use. Inexpensive software, intuitive interface, and easy to use. Photo match, shadow, and style features. Don't know if its a weakness, but it would be nice if some of the editing tools were more like my Cadd system (especially the stretch window, better window controls inside a command, and selective unselect). Also nice if SU could dde with a spreadsheet, but not if it slows the app down.

thank you very much for your quick answer. i need to make a tunnel so i must draw the line and after follow it with my face. As a difficult face to make, i need to use again but not re-draw it all the time. So the best way to do this is to duplicate like you said me. it works perfectly! you can make a group too for the same results but i'm thinkig that it will be limitation for my model.

I don't need a plugin for this - it's actually a piece of cake to model - it would just be fine not to worry about the cutting ability of thick walls.

I cannot agree more! Most of the programs I use are in English and once in a while, when I encounter a "translated" version of say Gimp (or such), I am totally lame at using it. I must thank Google they found the Hungarian market small enough not to translate SU into Hungarian (yet?). (OR if they are thinking of it, get me to do it - for good money of course yet I think I'd use the English version even then.)

ViaCAD series f. OSX/Win. 3D version starts from U$ 99.- (street price lower) and can import SU files too. have fun, Norbert

Should be possible. Create a folder in a shared location and put all your components there. open the components browser and click the little button just to the right of the search box, then click 'open or create a local collection'. navigate to your shared folder. Click the little button to the right of the search box and click 'add to favourites.'

Pilou, you don't have to double click then deselect the face. Just click the face and then use Follow Me. The profile will follow the perimeter of the face. See here for a tut I made a couple years ago: http://www.sketchucation.com/forums/scf/viewtopic.php?p=4286#p4286 Or here on the new SketchUcation Site: http://www.sketchucation.com/?p=1265

Mocamro You can use the [project faces on a plane along vector] script. http://www.crai.archi.fr/RubyLibraryDepot/Ruby/en_sections.html This will intersect a selected face with a sloping plane along a selected vector. Great for interior walls in rooms with sloping ceilings. dtr

Peter, You need to add the section plane INSIDE the car_A component. Oriented to the front. INSIDE car_B component you place a second section plane facing to the rear end of the car. Both section planes can be active at the same time for they are in different components. The rest is up to you. Wo3Dan p.s. Toggle off "Display Section Planes" and have "Display Section Cuts" ON

Fifo & Jim. Both your suggestions were very helpful regarding moving objects on the slanted surface. I was able to rotate the axis as well as slide it along the surface. Sliding didn't seem to work when I was using the Xray mode so I could see the hidden structure but with Xray turned off, did the job along with using construction lines for accuracy. Thank you all.

Yeah, as soon as I finished posting those pictures I remembered why it was doing that and I also went and got Subdivide and Smooth and figured the whole thing out...for now. The next big hurdle will be the body of the truck. Tons of detail and many different angles. Thanks for the help everyone. It is appreciated. Talk to you all soon.

Thank you for the reply. Although the simple test does not recreate the situation. In simple situation it works (that's why I used this method to extract points of interest positions from a model). In any case, I gave up on this approach not just due to technical aspects, but as conceptually not appropriated in my case.

You should try to update your graphic card drivers if you can.
