You won't get the horse power out of a laptop that could get from a desktop, but an ideal 3D system would be running 2x Xeon processors and the best Nvidia Quadro you can afford. You might want to make sure that your settings are optimized for 3D graphics.

do you mean you wish to see two different folders at the same time? like this on a mac...[image: YSh3_2014-10-1604.03.30pm.png] also I know on mac you need to create a User path 'Components' folder for SU to auto load them... if you don't actually use Dropbox for sharing, move all the folder to the User/Components, or link the content so SU can find them. john

Using the Upload Attachment can you upload the actual model if it isn't too big?

maybe you need to weld vertices? I think I recall a function in 3dsmax that merges all overlapping vertices.

Fredo6s ThruPaint (part of FredoTools) has a tool for this: [image: mNqW_tp_uv.jpg]

@kanastrous said: In SU8Pro - if I change a setting (shadows, or hidden geometry) in one scene, the changed setting ripples through -all- of the scenes, whether desired or not. For example, if I want to hide one item in Scene 2 of 5, as soon as Scene 2 (and -only- Scene 2) is saved, the item is now hidden in -every- scene. Ditto style and shadow settings: it becomes impossible to have changes in style, shadow, hidden geometry etc from one scene to the next. I figure that somewhere there is something like a save-current-changes-to-current-scene versus save-current-changes-to-all-scenes but I can't locate that on any of the menus and (surprise of surprises) the 'Help' index is of zero use, in tracking anything down. Can anyone tell me what I am missing? Thanks in advance karl Open the scenes window. At the bottom are check boxes for what gets saved with a scene. They can vary scene-to-scene.

@krisidious said: select that plane you created. right click on the face and choose intersect with model. this will create the slice of geometry you want. Before you do this, you should group that face and do the intersection in the context of that group. This way, you can be sure that nothing else gets affected by the intersection.

Thank you all for the advice. Rich - Well, I'm always being told I'm stubborn! At last it might pay off! Nemerobis - You're probably right, but I don't want to purchase & have to learn a third program just now. I have looked at Blender too - but another (difficult) learning curve. Hellnbak - Good idea, I'll look for those programs. Personally, I like to read a manual read, hence going for the tutorial e-books. Cars are not exactly my passion but a great deal of my business is indirectly for Mercedes-Benz so it would be an advantage. PS. looking forward to seeing the moon buggy!

Also, there are some users who are completely lost as to scale and 3D computer space.

it's by far the most fantastic thing ever... if it just had the usability of Lumion it would be well worth the money. You can build your own vegetation groups that age and size themselves naturally. Painting a forest is really kool. The sky and terrain tools are the best I've ever seen, simple and advanced at the same time and powerful. Not to mention infinite terrain. [image: WeWg_Kinan5.jpg]

Dave, is there still an issue with that not working with plugins from other sources? @box said: One small thing to note, Plugins from other sources won't be included in Bundles. It can only recognise ones you have downloaded through the Sketchcation tool.
