Is it just me, or is it rare to find things that are actually scaled to size in warehouse? I have tried to download things like screwdrivers and tennis balls, etc. Many are sized too large. Why?

Questioning the quality of warehouse models is like loading sand with a pitchfork. It will drive you mad.
However there is a bit of logic behind it. Sketchup has problems creating very small faces, you can get around it's limitations by scaling things up while you work on them. People have either forgotten or not bothered to scale down before they uploaded them. Some people also just seem to work at random scales.
When you download something use the tape measure to accurately resize it.

Another thing that seems to happen is people work at a larger scale as Box mentions but they create the component at that scaled up size. Then they scale the component down for their own use If the component is scaled down without opening it for editing first, the definition doesn't get edited to include the new dimensions. They probably don't understand that.

It is easily avoided or repaired but as you can see from the Warehouse, many people either don't avoid it or can't be bothered.

Also, there are some users who are completely lost as to scale and 3D computer space.

            My avatar is an anachronism.
