Plus smoothing the furniture rather than hiding the edges would work too. A simple example of the difference between soft and hidden. [image: bptC_SoftHide.JPG]

It does work on non rectangular shapes, as you can see in the animation I did elsewhere. However Polygons are a different beast as they are welded edges so it doesn't see the corners. A quick explode of the curve and the sides become different edges allowing the double click to work. [image: Three%20Edges.gif] [image: Poly.gif]

Selecting by fence draws a rubber-banding box for me on a similar set up in v2015. Solid lines left-right, dotted right-left, with different outcomes of partially included geometry etc as in earlier versions... Try alternative Preferences > OpenGL settings ? Are you Graphics Card drivers up to date ?

This is a basic operation. Switch the Face Style to Hidden Line. Don't use shadows. You can do that in the Styles Edit tab or under View>Face Styles. Depending upon the current style, you might need to edit the background color to white. You could also pick a new style from the default styles that uses the white background and Hidden Line face style.

Two options exist. Make the column a solid or use Intersect Faces and manually delete the part you don't want.

Thanks a gigaton! I've been pulling my hair in frustration for the past two months about this openstudio problem. Then i installed legacy openstudio plugin but got stuck somewhere else. Frustration at peak.. But now, everything is cool... I'm feeling like Tom Cruise of Jerry Maguire movie screaming "Show me the forums . I love SCF people" Thanks from the bottom of my heart..

Excellent, Thanks Tig, never seen the Klein before. Also the shape I made is not dissimilar to a volute I think.

@dave r said: Do you have length snapping enabled in Model Info/Units? If so, that would result in the jumpy movements. Turn it off and things should smooth out. You'll probably want to modify your starting template to get rid of length snapping, too. I don' have that problem anymore, it disappeared somehow [/highlight:1pk159iu] Thanx[/highlight:1pk159iu]

Please also note that it's not just SU Pro which is 64-bit... Even SU Make is 64-bit... I suggest that discussion continues in the SketchUp 2015 is 64bit thread...

I would like..... Pretty please. Produce a proper set of extrusion tools that is not just intended for flash roof building and can act the same as a cad program. Finally get rid of the extra facets and lines. Make a proper method of allowing close up view of components and groups for editing, WITHOUT clipping problems. I understand there are several plugins for the extrusion problem but they are limited. Oh, and 4. Continue to make the program more stable rather than adding extra functions.

Glad you got it to work. From what you describe, there wasn't any point in making components from the groups so those were unneeded steps.

@box said: Has that fixed your Guide problem too? The guide problem was before I inserted any cameras. Come to think of it, that issue has not bothered me in a while. I think since I packed all the levels of the building back into the shell, that problem is solved due to everything being more localized. But I wouldn't think 800 feet should be too far. I will confirm that theory and report in the guide visibility thread.

Change the precision setting to 1/32 and it should readjust. [image: 5GDE_Precision.JPG]
