    • RE: My Architect ai.

The truth is, giving up artistic and creative instincts is a negative sum. We will be worse off for it. I have not tried the service I referenced but it is suggested that it respects geometry and texture of the model being rendered, no evidence of that so I cannot say.

I am reminded of the HG Wells book, The time machine. A future world where subterranean monsters hunt and devour surface dwelling simpletons. Fugly evil subterranean types and beautiful but stupid surface dwellers more like sheep after a lobotomy.

If ai can be limited to assisting with lighting suggestions and denoising maybe. As a learning tool, that too but otherwise, no thanks Whoda thunk it, a Trekkie Troglodite........

    • Hot Rod

OK, not sleeping sometimes has a positive side to it, thought a bit on an old model 'rod and added a few new elements.

I am noticing that Rayscaper does not always update elements, groups/components as It should but a restart of Rayscaper sorts that right off the bat so NOT a problem.

I have mentioned Maxwell render before, used it to probably not its best but IMHO, Rayscaper beats Maxwell render hands down, NOW, let alone the future.

My big fascination which I am sure you will get, is cars. Ever since I could hold a pencil. Steve, I owe you for inspiring me to never give up with your talent and humility. Thank you, Sir.

Likewise, and to all living there right now.

Not to mention the other folk living there and hotspots, too many tin pot dick taters and I include a certain mop threatening to invade Greenland in that.

    • Oh, how I laughed....

I know, sometimes when things go pear shaped, I get the urge to laugh my head off.

Last night the screen went off the charts crazy, dialogue boxes opening and closing all over the screen and I thought everything AND the kitchen sink had gone nuts.

Switched it off and went to Bedfordshire.

This AM, tried again and same thing. Thought about it and narrowed it down to an input problem, then plugged a spare keyboard (OK, old keyboard) and nada. so I vacuum cleaned the current keyboad and everything is back to normal.

No, not a James Bond or James Bondage even, film.

This image showcases the smoothing process and is a partial clay image in passing.

    • Eddie Jordan, F1 great.

In the mould of Colin Chapman, Bruce McLaren, Sir Frank Williams etc but the last of his kind we shall see in F1.

Always outspoken and never short of an opinion I think he polarised with F1 fans but tbh, always managed to be a fine Irishman, pundit and genuine human being.

RIP to that great paddock where the oil is always Castrol R and the smell/sounds of real F1 rather than souped up hair dryers.

      Give 'em some 'stick' Eddie.

OK, my first response to you is probably not what you are looking for but bear with me.

ArchyBase – Free AI Rendering for SketchUp: Sketch to Render, Interior & Exterior as a headline, an attention grabber, becomes "Free to TRY".

Using the term free render and then changing it to free trial is a turn off. Personally I would not touch it with a barge board after that start.

Have a good day out there but do try harder.

    • RE: Alternatives to D5 Render - Poor Customer Service

I believe I know how you feel. Personally speaking, I find change these days difficult to cope with.
One of the reasons I struggle post Twilight render. I reckon age has a lot to do with this, being just the right side of 70.
However, thoughts of inadequacy etc must be resisted much like the negative impacts the average day produces. Giving up is never an answer and never will be, your renders and words of encouragement are something I am not letting go of regardless, keep on keeping on and carpe diem. It makes something and as long as that is not yeast extract and garlic flavoured custard, we are doing OK.
Sod tomorrow, TODAY is a new day, grab it firmly.

I must admit I have acquired a couple of blender books for learning V5, lots of add on's and what looks from the outside to be a deep talent. Yep, not managed it so far but this time taking it more seriously. Still going to hammer on the Sketchup nail though.

These stories tend to reignite my belief in people. With all the stuff on the news it is easy to see young folk as trouble makers etc. A bit of positive affirmation does the world good. I hope both those boys can get over the trauma and move on to better things.

    • RE: Thinking of our Majid today

In a world where Buddhist 'holy men' have declared the murder of Muslims to be right and so called Christians advocating the murder of doctors for doing things that are legal but not in their book et al. How can any of us declare Islam to be worse or better than othe faiths?

There will always be those humans who take the name of a faith, who declare they do the "Work of god" etc. What we need rid of is extremism.

I don't care what or who folk are as I gave up rationalising any of it. Decency to those around us is what is important.

We had a saying when I was a child, "Stretch it, don't tear it". There is another way of putting it which is more succinct, "Could not scratch their behinds without tearing it/bleeding".

Also, thinking of how 'men' of faith are. The inquisition? The Crusades? All nations and faiths go through the same situations where they act reprehensibly so, get rid of extremism and try to understand each other. putin, thinks he is a christian FE.

I hope you all have a great 2026, you and yours and thanks to the Sketchucation team for putting up with ALL of us. Yes, I have dropped the ball too so, sorry about that folks.
