@jeff hammond said: have a look here: http://sketchucation.com/forums/viewtopic.php?p=196062#p196062 Hey, Jeff. Thanks! I had completely forgotten that you can also get good results with straight SketchUp output... And I posted that myself! Speed is not that important. I also have a monster desktop Windows PC if a project requires it. I just want to model in SketchUp and maybe produce a few pretty pictures.

@tig said: I see no such lag. With creation or editing [an edit is in effect a create as a new definition is made for the instance[s] and the old one deleted from the data-base]. I have v2015 WIN Pro 64bit If anything it seems faster than v2014 ? Do you have any other plugins installed which might be using observers etc to look at created components and thereby slowing it down ? If you manually make a component are there similar lags ? This is the first report of a possible issue... No - I do not have any other plugins that are using observers...... If I do not get the lag when creating components or any other things. 2015 has been very fast for me. I just noticed this today. Do not remember seeing it yesterday or before and have not made any updates........ OK - I just went and tried again with one of the files where I noticed the problem earlier and it worked fine (and VERY fast). Do not know what might have been happening (I have all of the same things opened on my PC). I will assume it is fine but I will watch it to see if it happens again. Thanks for the quick reply...........

sketch3d.de, the impression I got was that we couldn't use the old network license together with the new stand-alone licenses.

ok. now I know what a scale figure is. they should have called it a 'human scale figure'. I thought they meant something along the lines of a drawing scale representation such as 1" = 1'-0".

Exactly, Dave. My time zone corresponds to "UTC + 01: 00". Can I set it up, but it is not kept in memory. (As, instead, occurs in the previous versions)

Nice indeed. It might be that all the lines were drawn in post but you could make a sketchy line style that is similar and also make tree components that look like those.

TIG/Allan, Thanks very much for this tip, it works perfectly! A note to others - if you export just the edges, arcs & circles will be translated into DWG arcs & circles. If you export faces however, they are exported as a segmented polyface mesh.

The plugin for 2014 seems to work a lot faster than the built-in one in SU8

Whenever you create a component, a definition is kept in the drawing you are using. So deleting all the instances does not delete the definition. Deleting is achieved by purging the drawing via window/model Info/statistics/purge unused. You can, also delete unused components via the component browser by right clicking an item and select from the context menu. Within the file you posted there are unused "corrugated wall, roofrow#2, row#1, Sophie, tp150bit#1" the copied subcomponents of these may interfere with your component and create the effects you are experiencing. this may be the case with the drawing you are inserting the DC into Purging is required.... where you save and insert a DC explains the change in attributes, from your home position on the component browser you can enter the latest updated instance, whereas if you go to the folder where the DC was saved you use the original settings. You may have noticed with a DC which copies itself, many unique components are made, so that purging after many edits would probably be required. I suggest in this case, that one uses groups for the sub_entities so that you don't need to worry about them. Another idea you may consider as you build larger objects which consist of many sub_entities, is a level where you can outer shell, explode and make them one component. This is required for quantity lists, otherwise you end up with lots of useless data (sub entities) which slows the operation down.

@tig said: BUT if the intersection with a Line results in an Arc that is effectively swept through 360º - so that its start vertex is at the same point as its end vertex... then later on you will get a BugSplat when trying to change the segments in Entity Info That's exactly what I was doing (a line from 0,0,0 out some distance equal to the desired radius following by moving to that point to start the circle, finishing it at 0,0,0 again). Only then, huh? Wow... that's an odd one.
