      SketchUp

Custom linetypes - dashed, center, dotted, whatever we decide.

what would be really great is if we could define our own line types by referencing a .txt file (for instance) which stores the configurations.

The new autolabel feature is awesome. Now it needs to be opened up to developers to create their own scripts that produce text in Layout! (for example, it doesn't work very well with Skalp)

I agree 600% You can come pretty close to this with TIG's 2D Tools but it puts hidden styles in your model for the line style. Seems to me that this is something that out to be a native part of the application for anyone in the construction industry.

I like your line styles and the suggestion to be able to draw them in color. Again, almost a "must have" for the construction industry.

Absolutely!! Just as with many CAD programs, give the user the tools to make custom linetypes like:

                    -.-.-.-.-.-.

                    --E--E--E--
                    ---SEWER----SEWER----SEWER---

Line thickness and or colour is simply handled by Styles.

push the cmmd key (for example) with the tape measure tool and it places a guide point.

Improved transparency when displaying a transparent texture on a transparent texture, as seen in this image with a fence over a tree. On the left is the sketchup display, and on the right is the exported 2d image. Comparison between Sketchup display (left) and sketchup 2d export (right)

Zoomed out it is worse - the texture behind simply disappears.Zoomed out

                              My needs are simple.

I want to think about a model, and have SU build it for me.

For me that's going to have to be a two-stage process - First, a brain implant, then the computer implant πŸ˜’

Wow, didn't know there were four books in the Space Odyssey series. Didn't read too far into the Wikipedia article, seemed to be too many spoilers. Sadly, I've never read any of the books. But I've just visited Amazon and have ordered all four.

As far as understanding all languages, the little fish thingie in the ear method used in Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy seems like it would be a lot less painful. I'll just go with that I think.

It's an awesome series and I think the Final Odyssey is my favorite. An astronaut is out bu Jupiter or something and has an accident and is frozen solid. Brought back to life in 3001. I really wanted it to be made into a movie.
