LumenRT was bought by Bentley about a year ago. And, unfortunately, they changed the pricing - not only did they jack the price up, but sell it on a subscription-only basis (under eon, it was like SU - you bought it once, and as long as you paid the modest maintenance fee each year, subsequent versions and updates were free). Now it is too expensive for my modest means; I'll stick with the old eon software version for now. If I were choosing between the two today (or if I ever get a really huge bonus or win a lottery) I would choose Lumion - for the money, you get more bang for your buck, IMHO.

When you add a new layer, it becomes visible in all existing scenes. To delete a layer entirely: go to the layers window and press the minus sign button at the top. you will have to decide what to do with contents. To change all the scenes to not show that layer: Choose the scene, make the layer not visible by unchecking the box in the layer window, then update the scene. A hassle if you have numerous scenes. If you want to avoid this problem in a future situation (once you already have many scenes): Before you "Add Location", create the Google Earth layers (exact layer names) using the plugin "add_hidden_layer.rb". Then when you import location data it will go to the hidden layers. You can then choose what scenes in which you want the GE layers visible. Welcome to Sketchucation Forums, Jamie!

It is in the release notes, but it still does seem somewhat obscure.

big tip... don't load two renders at the same time, and I will go further to say don't load them unless your rendering... why? they use observers which really effect performance on a mac... some are slightly better than others, but they all create additional computation that when added to 'Autosaves' and "Outliner' updates crash SU... be brutal, only turn them on when YOU want not when they want... john

Hi dear SketchUppers, A second solution which gives the same result This alternative way is a bit longer to achieve because you need to delete the circle and clean cpoints and clines, but this ancient TIG's set of tools although poorly known can bring great services. The plugin used is TIG's TrueTangents v3.0 The tool used is True Intersections. http://sketchucation.com/forums/viewtopic.php?p=160780#p160780 http://sketchucation.com/pluginstore?pln=TrueTangents [image: odRV_RightTriangle_002.jpg] [image: cMah_RightTriangle_003.jpg] [image: Vu0W_RightTriangle_004.jpg] [image: pMa9_RightTriangle_005.jpg] Cheers, Simon

There are some problems that occur only on Windows and some that occur only on Mac, but neither is "slightly problematic". Ok ok you got me -holds hand in air- I used a vague and unsubstantiated statement in the hopes of convincing this kind man to avoid paying for overpriced hardware in a pretty box with a clunky OS Seriously, not gonna go any further into this because I have a definite bias here, but I really don't think a Mac is worth the price you pay. I'm also not interested in a religious war. I use both PC and Mac. But I object to innuendo offered without any facts, just based on rumor and bias. I would react the same way to a Mac bigot.

Matheos, Just as should have done in my example, you will probably want to increase the segments on your wheel considerably for that close-up, and add rounded edges to the wheel and frame. You'll like it more. Peter

You can use Version 8 for commercial too, if I'm not mistaken.

Aerilius, thank you for your answer. I have (re)drawn my project (completely) in Inkscape, so now I have vector version. If I'll need to use SU for anything similar, I will check your (Inkscape->dxf->SU) suggestion. Thank you, Bow, Simon S love nia

@quantj said: Do you use Podium (for sketchup rendering) by any chance, I use to have a problem with the old version (SU that if I left Podium Manager open, it would cancel any auto-save or save but I wouldn't know, so I'd save like usual but next time I opened it, it was the old model prior to me opening Podium Manager. No, I do not use podium. This is probably one of those things that "computers" just do.

Can also try going to the following menu: View > Hidden geometry. You might have triangles there and you might even have things that are not coplanar.

@cquinn said: Hi, Running the latest version of Sketchup 2014 on a Mac. Firstly haven't been able to run Round Corners for a few months despite multiple attempts to download it. It simply doesnt load. I used to use it. Secondly I want to make sure I have latest LibFredo 6.3, but no idea what "non-asciii" name means and if I am out of luck. Either way I can't seem to get the latest up and running. My needs are simple, I run a few plugins but always run into these irritating problems with plugins. I use Ext Warehouse but Lib Fredo is apparently out of date there. I know how to load plugins directly into my plugins library myself also. Thanks in advance! Non-ascii is simply a reference to accentuated characters, cyrillic, etc... Release 6.3 is mainly to address some issues for username with such characters (since SU14 stores plugins in a direct folder ory Under the Users directory on Windows). Normally, Mac should not be concerned. I recommend you install from the Sketchucation Plugin Store, which is simply one click. Unfortunately publishing on the Extension Warehouse takes longer because there is a formal review by the Sketchup team. So version 6.3 (and by the way version 6.2) were submitted but are not yet published officially on EWH, pending this review. Now, if you have a problem of installation, try to explain what it is if you want anyone here on SCF to help. Fredo
