Yes I know it is as old as the hills and Boudica was probably in kindergarden when the first discussion took place. Thing is, I have tried the usual in this model of making sure I stay close to origin and this thing is 6.87 metres in length so not too small either.

It does seem to me that the model is corrupt but I am basically asking if there is anything else I might consider...............

Hard to search for a reason without a model or an image...

Not much useful information to go on. What happens if you hit Zoom Extents? What happens if you switch the camera to Perspective?

I tried the above and nothing mentioned in the forum works, as soon as I go near the model it clips.

I think we have seen enough images of clipping to know what it looks like too but it is moot anyway. I have started again with a fresh model and the clipping has gone which suggests my thoughts of a somehow corrupt model caused the problem. Just a pain in the seat to lose hours of effort. Tough luck on me though.

Yes, we've seen plenty of images of clipping.

You probably didn't have to start over from scratch but I guess it's too late now.

I have to say the bleep thing was going in the wrong direction most likely so the clipping was just the handle on the cart. I am making my tank models by using template/blueprint pictures and overdrawing but after a few of these the program slows noticeably. I guess that will be easier with the 64 bit sketchup 2015 now out.

~~I just ran into this monster for the first time today. I was using advanced cameras when it started. I was trying to position one of the cameras in a tight spot. Then I noticed the clipping shortly after when I attempted to correct a color on a wall approaching the corner. None of the suggestions I read has helped me so far. So I did a save-as and pray my last save was not too far back. I cannot start this project over. Any tips is appreciated.

Dave- when you said he probably didn't have to start over, what did you mean?~~

NEVERMIND....I went back into my file and found that the "advance cameras" went crazy. One of them had a pyramid spread like 50 miles out from the building. I ended up deleting all advance cameras and everything that came with them and all is sorted now.

Has that fixed your Guide problem too?

The guide problem was before I inserted any cameras. Come to think of it, that issue has not bothered me in a while. I think since I packed all the levels of the building back into the shell, that problem is solved due to everything being more localized. But I wouldn't think 800 feet should be too far. I will confirm that theory and report in the guide visibility thread.
