Wow Thanks Thom. I was looking for a quick result, because I can set up so default settings and then just make minor tweaks. I'll put it the the Man and see what he says. Thanks again

[quote="alpro"]Try to render as an animation just the irradiance map and save to a file, then rerender your scenes, loading the irradiance map that you saved, also make sure that vignetting is unchecked. Thanks i gonna try without vignetting giovanni

@alpro said: Sepo, yes I did get to finally download the beta thanks to Dave at support. But still can't connect to the download page or supodium, wonder if its related to the problem Edson and some other users have sometimes connecting even though I thought I read that it was just users from Brazil that were having that problem. Either way, thanks to Dave and I'm gonna give V2 a tryout today. Mike mike, my problem seems to have been solved. eventually i managed to get hold of some tech people from my provider and they found out the problem: the route from my provider to podium's was blocked somewhere along the way (not at the start nor at the end). the solution was to re-route my access. i hope this is a definitive solution.

@unknownuser said: Hi I emailed ASGvis about this. They said ............. ......... It is possible to do what is called a "fly-through" animation using SketchUp (and therefore V-Ray) in which only the camera moves. This is not a supported function of V-Ray but something that SketchUp does that we can enhance using our render engine. You can find tons of information about animation on our free forums. Here is a link to just one of the many postings about this: http://forum.asgvis.com/index.php?topic=4324.0 However I am having trouble accessing the ASGvis site! So Ihope it can help. Please let me know. Guy Thanks Guy for the insight. I will have to take a look at this. I am new to rendering fly-through's and stuff and i will probably end up doing them in 3DS Max, but I just wanted to see if there was any easy way to accomplish this with sketchUp, because I love that you don't have to switch from program to program. I rendered two scenes as an "animation" from the vRay options and saved the jpg's. I tried then combining and creating them into a video in Sony Vegas but the thing is, is that it isn't arranging the jpgs as 30frames/sec. its doing like 1 frame every 4 seconds and I have no idea how to tell it to do it 30/sec. Hope someone has a simple solution, Thanks again! Steve

@pugz1983 said: Hi Everybody, Is there a way to purge all indigo material settings. I've always liked the way Indigo renders, but I hate the Fatal errors. I've searched the indigo forum for answer bu didn't find it. I cant seem to figure out were the error is in my materials so I want to purge all naterial and UV settings. PLease help Greetz from The Netherlands Hi pugz, You can purge Indigo settings using the Ruby Console. Type 'SkIndigo.purge_mats' to purge all your material settings. Type 'SkIndigo.purge_model' to purge all your render settings. I think you can only purge stored UV sets by selecting the faces in your model and then right-click->SkIndigo UV Mapping->Purge UV sets. Sorry to hear that you are getting error messages. I'm not sure what version of SkIndigo you are using but I have been doing a lot of bug-fixing lately. Keep checking the website for the next stable release of Indigo and SkIndigo (2.2) which should hopefully be out in a matter of days. If you could please post the error messages you are getting, that would be a big help. Thanks!

Yes, I saw the pre-order discount. But we had a hard time with Maxwell using the first versions. I am afraid I will pass this time and wait for the first signs of a solid and well tested version of VfSU on OSX. As I understand the current version VfSU (PC version) is not yet properly developed either. Francois

EEbyRails v2 has been optimized so the number of segments in rails/profiles isn't so critical BUT for the 'smoothest' meshes use the same number of segments in each pair of rails/profile, or at least multiples (20+10 say) Version 2 also has a final 'melding-profile' option so you can control the pairs of sides in a mesh - both rails and profiles, so that all edges will 'mesh' with adjoining surfaces... get it here http://forums.sketchucation.com/viewtopic.php?p=201286#p201286

I found the problem guys. Somehow I had inserted 2 layers of the glass component into the group which when rendered in KT ~probably~ doubled the IOR. Once I fixed the glass to a single layer of glass the rending worked perfectly. I thank you for your assistance.

Hello, You might want to try posting this on the Sketchup forum at the official Maxwell forum as you are more likely to get technical support there: http://www.maxwellrender.com/forum/viewforum.php?f=107 Best, Jason.

I have had this problem and the only way i managed to get arround it was as follows. You need to open the model in max weld all the components together and save as a 3ds. Then sketchup will be able to inport it. If you dont weld the parts it scatters the parts all over the place. Dont stress when you weld it, when you open it in SU it still sees the parts as seperate pieces and if you triple click the parts remain as seperate pieces. However if the model is too complicated or has a high poly count there is NO way to inport it sketchup just doesnt handle it but i do manage to get most archmodels inported.

I'm also a user of unbiased engines, but i have to admit that if i knew vray well enough i would probably just use that. The big advantage for unbiased is the litle time is takes to set things up, wihtout needing to know too much technical stuff, but in return the render times are ridiculous big. Now the problem is that, in this CG business, we're always learning and evolving our skills and knowledge, with time beeing allways against us, so often we reach a point that we want the same quality (almost) with a fraction of the time and that's when we users, that ironicly always ask for simplicity, start studing and using more complex stuff that fit our new goals... I have 2 friends that everyday remember me that no matter how good quality my unbiased render is, their Vray and mental ray stuff will allways look better (I'm talking really top stuff here). They don't even lose much more time than me setting a scene up (experience and material libraries compensate that) and in render times i don't have a chance either, especially if we're talking big print resolutions...Nowdays i'm using more and more biased methods for render and evolve my photoshop skills...some stuff is a pain but it's starting to pay off

Do not use emissive materials to light your scene. Some engines can do this, VRay for SU cannot right now. you have to place IES or spots in those cans.
