@sashapepperspray It seems we had similar ideas for the NB70 plugin. I really liked your solution involving symmetric mesh triangulation; the results in your version appear more uniform. I also don't know anything about Ruby, and if it weren't for AI, I wouldn't have been able to make those improvements to the plugin—much like what seems to have happened in your case.

The current version is actually a very small plugin, only a few KB, and it relies mainly on SketchUp’s native GLB exporter. So it naturally inherits some of its limitations, including scenes and some aspects of the rendering. For now, the goal of this Free version is to keep it as simple and lightweight as possible.

A clarification on the main use case: you do not need to open and repair each model individually. Install the extension, then choose Extensions > Repair a folder of SketchUp Finder icons… and select your library folder. It includes normal subfolders. The current-model command is an additional option, and icons are also restored after ordinary saves. The confirmed testing range is Apple silicon with SketchUp 2021–2026. Intel hardware testing remains unconfirmed. Folder repair requires Python 3 at /usr/bin/python3. Download Mac SKP Icon Repair from SketchUcation PluginStore, or use the GitHub source, instructions and direct installer. Both links are in the opening post.

It is a tough call to make, with inflation and the foolishness going on around the world for a handful of Dick Taters. We all know cost are on the rise which goes for everyone and I for one would NOT like to be making a decision on sales methods. Do you throw it all on direct sales or look towards the 'hook' of reduced outgoing over the year? Both have the good/bad points so, what are you going to do? Like I said, a tough call, going the wrong way can ruin a lot of hard graft and with that a financial investment. I think we are possibly seeing the last of the lifetime licenses due to the unsupportable costs of lifetime support.
