Podium 2 Beta 1

We have just launch public Podium 2 Beta1. You can read about it here http://supodiumforum.websitetoolbox.com/?forum=156561. In order to download open beta you need to have version 1.x

Very cool.
There are a lot of new render solutions in beta at moment.
Podium, Thea, Vue and Vray. (have I missed any?)
These are crazy fun days, and no better time than this (industry is all but closed for Christmas)

Thanks Gai. I don't mind you using any of our images in Catchup. You also could have used one of the recent renders I posted as well.

There will/may be Beta 2 then 3 and so on until a final release so I am still not late.

Good you reminded - I have put the quotation ("borrowed" from the site) as a quotation should be (italics and all). More straightforward this way.

Hi Sepo.
Do you mind rewriting the installer for Mac (just before Podium comes out of beta), so it doesn't bugger up our OSX plugin directories?

For whatever reason I can't connect to that site to download the beta, it just keeps timing out. Don't have a problem connecting anywhere else. Is it possible that so many people are downloading the beta?

Sepo, will do. Really fustrating, waiting so long for V2 and still can't get my hnds on it. I don't think its on my end cause I don't have a problem connecting anywhere else. Thanks.

Well, there is a Podium 1 for mac, so I am only assuming that there will be a Podium 2 also for Mac, at some time too, in the not too distant future?
Either way, the Podium 1 installer screws the ruby navigation path up for us Mac users. I am simply asking if you would be so kind as to pay it some attention- when for example, you have coded (if at all?) Podium 2 for Mac!

I was not that it actually screwed anything...I remember there was some noise about but it never really came up to anything. We have a lot of Mac users and they did not complain. Nevertheless I will report this back.

as a mac user i must say the podium installation did not mess up anything in my machine. it did create another plugins folder at the user level but i moved everything housed there to the normal folder and deleted it. no problems.
even though i tried V2 on windows under vmware i am very impressed by the promise of it. the picture below has no post processing.

Sepo, yes I did get to finally download the beta thanks to Dave at support. But still can't connect to the download page or supodium, wonder if its related to the problem Edson and some other users have sometimes connecting even though I thought I read that it was just users from Brazil that were having that problem. Either way, thanks to Dave and I'm gonna give V2 a tryout today.

my problem seems to have been solved. eventually i managed to get hold of some tech people from my provider and they found out the problem: the route from my provider to podium's was blocked somewhere along the way (not at the start nor at the end). the solution was to re-route my access. i hope this is a definitive solution.
