    Hey guys I am desperate for very high resolution/quality satellite maps, I use Placemaker and I also use Nearmap but the resolution is not that great, I have tried using AI to upscale but that too does not really solve my issues. Is there another solution?

    Hey Mike, I'm sure you figured this out already, but when you first create the attribute type a number with the inch mark like 0" or 0' in the value box and hit enter. This will set the unit for that attribute to inches. This only works for the first time a value is entered. After that first initial value, you will need to use the attribute info dialog to make changes. In addition, you can use 0 to set it to text (not "Default: Text") and 0cm to set it to centimeters. If anyone knows a shortcut for setting the unit to Decimal Number, I would love to hear it!

    Export it at the largest size image you can [see options ~3000px], and turn anti-aliasing off. Resize the image in your document. To get a 'scaled version' perhaps add a 'scale-bar' to the image to assist in that... Or try 'Layout' ?

    Thank you very much Jim and Gaieus ! It was my mistake - I downloaded FastStone image viewer instead of Fast Stone Capture and was looking in the settings for "Include Mouse Pointer" almost got frustrated I have what I need, thanks so much!

    oh. one of those. yeah, you can't do it solely with standard sketchup inferencing. i bet there are quite a few tricks out there but my own go to is similar to yours except i'd use TIG's extrude edge by vector to make the vertical face.. (select a line, extrude it up (or down) but keep it as a group for easy deletion when your done with it.. draw the vertical line then delete the group). i guess if i had a lot of these on one drawing, i'd consider draping all the criss-cross lines (sandbox tools) onto a flat plane which would show you where the intersections are.

    Thanks again to everyone. In this instance, it was some kind of non-selectable artifact (a cross mark) and a stray guideline that was causing the problem. My solution was to select just the model itself and then Paste in Place to a new file, then do a Save As the old file and overwrite it. Worked just fine.

Sure, since it was a simple object to redraw and replace, I decided to export the drawing I needed and closed without saving. So I could investigate it further. I've saved a new file with just this component, tried exporting various views and ran into the same issues, everything went smoothly, exporting in just a second, except the same view. I've attached it, you can see the two scenes...on the fixed scene, after you just delete the group of hex bolt heads and export, it goes fine. SensusRegulator.skp

    I have a firepro v5800 that I just put yesterday in my computer, so far I have no problems with it, (only tested in sketchup, thea and twinmotion) but I don't see any difference between this one and my old 9800 gt gainward, so I don't know if it's worth getting a good graphic card these days, maybe for programs asking more of the graphic card like 3dsmax (maybe?)

    See what Alan means by this offset/scaling technique below. Here there is no offset but Ctrl+PushPull but the basic idea is the same; you create a series of connected contour lines which you can easily adjust with the Scale tool.     Thanks all for the help. I deleted the phantom group and all is well. No idea why it was there in the first place. Tig, thanks for explaining why some of my solids had problems. I previously stumbled upon the fact that I can have multiple separated solids within a group/comp and now I use that "feature" in places.

The gluing function made it impossible to put the objects side by side. They were put in the model on a face. I don't know if one moved once the face's layer was off. But that is the problem, without that layer on they cannot be put in the side by side position. Thanks to all, Peter
