I set newly created layers not to be displayed in new or existing scenes so as not to screw them up with unwanted material. However, when I create a new scene from one in which the layer state is as desired, all the layers which have been created with the stipulation that they not be included are, indeed, not displayed. What I'd like is for layers not to be included in new scenes unless turned on at the time of creation of that unique scene. Alternatively if I could dupe a scene with my desired layer visibility that would do the trick.

Gracious that's helpful, Box. As a former user getting back in the saddle, I'm amazed at all the useless lines I drew and erased to dimension to lines (not points). The tip should be a part of the SU docs and instruction.

Just a note of thanks, Fredo, for a typically powerful multifaceted, super-documented and pleasing to behold tool-set. If I could master your tools alone, I would consider that quite a worthwhile accomplishment.
