@utiler said: And just tried a new model with nothing in it.... Can't find the red axis. Just tested a model similar to the one in your file, feb 13. With the camera position you presented I could find R, G and B axes in FOV less than 10 deg upto 120 degrees. No problem here. The blind spot that seems to only appear on my laptop decreases with a larger FOV. Weird.

Is SketchUp flagging a problem with your model and prompting to fix it when you save? Judging the appearance in the images you got lots of reversed faces going on. I imagine there's probably lots of other errors too.

@dave I think the OP is flagging the blurring to the texture at the end of the corridor. I could be wrong though. To me it is a natural artifact because the pixels of the image are smaller than the pixels on the screen.

@juju said: @launok said: Gosh, access too! I can remember a banner message which states that from 1 Jan 2017 downloads for models prior to SU 2015 will no longer be available but nothing regards access to the site. I hope this is not the case as I am a newbie who has uploaded 1 model so far to the warehouse and would like to share more in future. Oops, my bad. That sounds more correct... Sorry to cause you worries... Quite fine! Well it's the 1st of a new month, sounds like maintenance then. EDIT: And whoopey, site is back up again!!!

@pixero said: I usually do it like this. In Max make sure the materials are scan line not vray. Export as obj to the same folder that the textures are in. I then use Simlab composer to convert the obj to skp. I think you can export a few models with the demo version. or direct export from max to skp via Simlab exporter for MAX . So far, that one worked seamlessly.

Thanks for the suggestions Moujiik. I downloaded Rhino 5 evaluation version this morning and it handled the conversion perfectly. ...Plus now I get to play with Rhino for the next 3 months!

@box said: Don't hold ctrl, just tap it, it is a toggle. Guide on guide off, you'll even see the little guide line symbol disappear and reappear. For some unknown reason they reversed the default in 2017. Damn, never noticed that. The toggle on seems to be the default on my puter. Never needed a reason to toggle off.

Well I finally got around to trying this fix [image: h3Vz_2017-02-03_221211.png] and it worked! Set my values at 60 and now even my largest model can be worked with no problems. Unfortunately I had already reset the laptop back to the original factory settings in anticipation of selling it, which meant that I had to do all the updates again (a real pain in the butt), and copy almost 700GB worth of data over to it (including my 369GB Sketchup Stuff folder). Now I get to do all the fine-tuning (again). Fun time. See what trouble you caused me, Rich?

Nevermind I solved it. The ramp entrance level was not 100% flat with the rest of the floor. I used the push/pull tool to make sure all the surfaces was perfectly on the same level and it worked.

Yeah. You nailed it. The smoothing issue is very apparent when using radial bend in FredoScale. Simply entering edit mode nukes the strange appearance. I tried that with this flickering issue but it didn't work.

That warning comes from Dynamic Components, doesn't it? Try closing the DC Windows before which ever operation you are attempting.

Have you checked your FBX export options ? I think they should look like this ? [image: APKW_Capture.PNG] Otherwise the doubled up faces could double up vertices etc ?

From your video it appears you've disabled the style change warning. Since axis and guide visibility are style settings and you aren't updating or creating a new style when updating the scene, it's no surprise that the axes and guides are still showing in that scene. When you click on that scene tab, you are not only returning to the camera position but also the style associated with the scene. When you click to update the scene after making a style change, you should see a warning box like this. [image: qkir_Screenshot-1_28_20174_48_38AM.png] To re-enable it go to Preferences>General and turn that warning on again. Then make the appropriate selection from the first two choices. [image: Gx5j_Screenshot-1_28_20174_52_38AM.png] By the way, this warning is nothing new. This has been part of SketchUp forever. Or at least back to version 3.
