Expanding on what Dave wrote: SketchUp displays lengths according to the units you have set in the model info window. If your choice does not have enough precision to present a particular length perfectly, SketchUp displays the closest value allowed by your choice and prefixes it with "~" to let you know that the value shown is an approximation of the true value. It is important to realize this is an aspect of presenting values on the GUI, it does not mean the value isn't stored correctly inside SketchUp. Also, it is a one-way street: you can't enter a "~" prefix when you type a value. For example, if you set units to decimal meters with 0.0 precision, the value 0.123m can't be fully displayed even if that is the exact length of the entity in the SketchUp model. It will be "~ 0.1m" even though SketchUp internally has the correct 0.123m value. Similarly, if you set fractional inches with 1/2 inch precision, 3/8 inch will display as "~ 1/2" because that's the closest value that can be displayed.

The easiest way I found was by using the DIBAC plugin, it recognizes the cut face according to the texture selected for the GROUP, regardless of the colors of the faces. [image: qmtp_Untitled-1.jpg]

Examples of camera simulations with MSphysics can be found here: http://sketchucation.com/forums/viewtopic.php?f=323&t=68975 You can connect a target object with the same polyline/curve (Curvy Piston) in front of the camera object to get a parallel view.

@hornoxx said: @box said: ...you have hit control while orbiting which has tilted your workspace... an other D'oh! moment for me didn't know this tilting is even possible so This feature is often overlooked. SketchUp by default implements a notion of "gravity" that keeps the horizon level across the width of your view - even if sky and ground visibility are turned off so there is no horizon literally visible. Especially with architectural models, this avoids strange and confusing off-level motion. But by pressing control (option on mac) you can temporarily suspend gravity to get a free rotation during orbit.

Use the stamp tool to cut a hole in the terrain, then you'll have to clean up the trees, see pic. [image: hv0p_Stamp.JPG]

I'll have to do some research to see if there is a way to update your list of extensions. It hasn't been an issue for me since I know they aren't installed. I rarely have a need to even look at that list.

Your dropbox files are gone, so I can't comment on them. Did you submit the BugSplats having filled in the fields for info about yourself? If so, someone at Trimble will take a look and let you know if this is a known bug or, for example, an issue with some extension. Be patient - they get enough splat reports that sometimes a reply takes a while.

Excellent suggestions. I have to look into that use of Curvizard. Road depends on the terrain and the extent. Why not build the road if you want it flat? You can push pull a projection down to the terrain then give the road the grade that you want. Keep it separate from the terrain Reshape a copy of the existing terrain (new terrain) for fill and cut around the road. Sometimes I project the road on a copy of the terrain with sandbox Drape. I don't like to cut up the terrain with Drape directly. Makes a mess. Depends on what you are starting with in terms of topo and what your end use is (e.g. how accurate). Sometimes a simple drape is enough to indicate a road for the views you are making. Sometimes you are working out a design for an actual road.

Maybe this is what you're trying to describe. You could draw the drawer box using a rectangular path, a section profile, and Follow Me. Then draw a "cutter" to intersect at the corners. Imagine you could saw out the lock rabbet with a coping saw blade. The cutter is the path the blade would follow. Then separate the sides into components through careful selection. Looks like you have intersected from the context of the roof which has put the geometry of the walls there. As you don't need it it can be removed. Your walls are raw geometry and are reversed. So select them all and choose reverse faces, then select them all and choose, Intersect with Model. Then remove the excess geometry. I've also assigned the Roof group to the h roof layer so it can be turned on and off. Follow along in the gif. [image: QQ8v_Intersecthouse.gif]

Thanks Box, you must be an owl. I awoke to find the printer guy fixed it with a program that "fixes" geometry.
