Model Info window opening when pressing space bar

I have just bought a new mac book pro and updated to SketchUP Pro 2018 and I am still encountering the same bug as I had on my old machine and ver2017. When I hit the space bar to activate the select tool the model info window opens on the geo-location option. I have tried hitting the tab button 4 times and also gone into the keyboard preferences on the computer, selecting shortcuts and then selecting the option for text boxes and lists only but this has not rectified the problem. I also reset the SketchUP shortcuts within the programme itself and still no luck.
