Make it a component and save it to a component collection, then select and place it from the component panel whenever you need it.

Hey guys I am desperate for very high resolution/quality satellite maps, I use Placemaker and I also use Nearmap but the resolution is not that great, I have tried using AI to upscale but that too does not really solve my issues. Is there another solution?

Probably so. I have been learning/working with animated textures in Twilight Render. Since Animator works with TR, I was thinking about how neat it would be to combine the features of the two pieces of software. Could almost be a competitor to things like Twinmotion and Enscape. Was just thinking (LOL) Maybe it is time to go back to being retired.

My workflow in SU2018 with the advice you and TIG suggest is followed but I leave it to ThomThom's cleanup tool to move everything to layer0 When I'm happy with it.

@box said: Two of these are a texture made by exporting a 2d image png with transparent background. Can you tell which is the real one? It's all a bit furry in the screengrab. <!-- ia0 -->Screenshot 2022-01-11 093640.jpg<!-- ia0 -->[/attachment:j019fl3y] Up close you can see the difference, but it all depends what you want to do with the model and how much real detail you need. Thanks Box. I think I see what you're getting at. Expectation is to build a quality visual model for client and then going into layout and creating fabrication prints of the panel(s) for the laser shop. Nic

OK - I just went into the SketchUcation Tools and it now seems to be working fine. In fact, I now see that it is the latest version. Not sure why there was a problem before, but I appreciate the responses.

You should be able to resize the model to the real world dimensions. First go into Model Info>Units and set them to Millimeters. Then in the model space, get the Tape Measure tool. Measure the distance between two points making sure you click on both ends. Type the actual dimension and press Enter. SketchUp will ask you if you want to resize the model. Choose the affirmative answer. If you used components in the model, right click on each one and choose Scale Definition to correct the size. As for why it worked to 3D print your model, the exported .stl file has no units. 35 is just 35. When the .stl is imported into the slicer software the slicer is set up to millimeters and it all plays nicely. As an example, here's a thing I modeled in SketchUp using meters as the units. [image: Bido_Screenshot-1_9_20221_44_30PM.png] And the first rough 3D print. They snap right on to the 18mm dia. tube. [image: 51107454646_b7205eb035_4k.jpg]

I always find I'm adjusting shadows anyway for time, date, etc. I can't imagine how having shadows turned on with the style would really save me any time.

@dave r said: @sipsak said: How can i export this view? (Dimensions only) Give the the model a tag or tags and give the dimesnions a separate tag. <!-- ia1 -->Screenshot - 1_3_2022 , 8_53_10 AM.png<!-- ia1 -->[/attachment:1z85upk4] For the dimensions only view, turn off all the tags except for the dimensions. <!-- ia0 -->Screenshot - 1_3_2022 , 8_53_27 AM.png<!-- ia0 -->[/attachment:1z85upk4] Safest thing is to create a scene for the view of the model and another with the same camera position for the dimensions only. Then export your .png image of the scene showing only the dimensions. In your image editor, paste it onto a layer above your rendered image with that layer set to Multiply. Thank you very much

Hopefully one or the other of those methods works for you. Have a great Christmas, too. Enjoy the beach. The water is already too hard at our little "beach."
