Hey guys I am desperate for very high resolution/quality satellite maps, I use Placemaker and I also use Nearmap but the resolution is not that great, I have tried using AI to upscale but that too does not really solve my issues. Is there another solution?

@sdmitch said: When you click on it does the entire line get selected or just the segment you clicked on. It matters because curves have to be adjusted differently. In this example, I use a 10 degree polynomial regression on the curve that is the top side of the face. For some reason, I couldn't see your attachment until today. That looks like an amazing plugin. I fixed the problem area by creating edges with a closed loop using sandbox, deleting the face, and then using Soap skin & bubble. The result was much smoother geometry. The new tools will definitely help in the near future. Thanks to all for the input

Actually, correction! It wasn’t TIG Layerwatcher, it was doing what it is supposed to do, just in a funny way. The real problem was me! Creating line work & faces off Layer 0! Sorry TIG. Layerwatcher is a great extension & is reinstalled because I think I need it. LOL.

@trip12091 said: UPDATE #1: I've noticed the following... While the edge I am pulling is absolutely 100% square and plumb (as confirmed by the protractor), the pulled extension is coming out 0.6% off. It's barely visible until you really zoom-in, but it is there. No. It isn't absolutely 100% square. If you set the precision in angle units higher, the Protractor will show confirm it. You can also check the coordinates using the Text tool. [image: DPJE_Screenshot-9_11_20174_47_25AM.png] UPDATE #2: I have now found that if I take the one face of the original plate, copy it, then push-pull it to the proper thickness, and then, after than, push-pull the edge to the proper width, it is working-out fine and I can delete the line. I have Nooooo idea why, or what's going on. Trip[/quote] The reason that works is because Push/Pull is precisely extruding at 90° to the face each time. So by copying the single face and extruding that, you areleaving the problem of your out-of-square edge behind.

Great! Thanks for such a quick reply. Ugh. Getting old... Turns out I commissioned such a plugin from Jim Fultz over 10 years ago and just now discovered it. I created a post on it as well. Vertex tools is better. https://sketchucation.com/forums/viewtopic.php?f=323%26amp;t=64554%26amp;p=592146#p592146

@sjs66 said: What exactly does it mean when it says "close the mesh?" It means that the mesh is not manifold. It is not a solid volume and there's a hole somewhere that need to be filled. If you make a cube and group it SU Entity Info will report it as Solid. Delete a face and it becomes non-solid. Solid Inspector is hunting and finding this exact problem.

Thanks Chip I am in the habit of selecting the objects before the tool. I didn't realize that the move tool must be selected first for this to work.

I have and use Thru Paint but its not mapped to fire. It is a large project with a bunch of hi-res textures. I disabled SimLab FBX Exporter and OBJ Importer, STL Import Export, Super Drape, Texture Resizer, VRay Tools, VoronoiXYZ, Photo Textures, PlayUp, RpWallmaker, Trimble Connect, and Easy Sketch. My materials and textures were mapping to my AppData location, so it was local but I remapped it to a location where I have all my local libraries. So far, the lag seems fixed but I have no idea which thing resolved it.

Hello! What does the maxscript actually? You can turn the textures visibility on in the viewport with the max menu but it doesn't interfere with the export does it? In any case you need to convert the vray/corona/mr/revit materials to standard before exporting to obj/fbx within 3dsmax. With 3dsmax 2017-2018 you have a scene converter inside max, which is useful to convert any material to standard. BUT as usual sometimes you need to switch to manual pilot as lots of things like fallof, blend, color correction, 2-sided, mix and other things aren't easily translatable to standard shader. I use fbx to export to SU (and import with Fluid Importer Pro) but obj works nice too.

I think what @pace514 means is that when he records a wall in 3D with the disto, it turns out not to be truly vertical, maybe only by a few mm's, hence he can't push/pull the resulting face. It's probably quicker to survey in 2D. If measuring a series of internal rooms, why not survey in plan format...measure the lengths of the walls corner to corner, all the ground floor will be at, say 0.00m level, push/pull the walls up 2.40m say to get the to the ceiling, push/pull the doors & window openings, then group the walls. Allow for the floor thickness and do the same on the upper floors. I know you are not using the Leica DISTO S910 to its full potential but in the case of a home survey, with no commercial benefit, it's safe to assume the walls and corners are vertical and 90°. Move from room to room and take a few diagonal check measurements, a few through open doors to distant walls, do the fine detailing at the end when you are happy with the overall shape. Don't forget to check the wall thickness's as you go, at window/door openings, the structural walls may be thicker and walls upstairs may be thinner as they ate not supporting as much weight. The Disto will be very handy when measuring inaccessible points, roof pitch/height/angle etc. have a look at the video below for working in 3D mode... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nX8AVHZY464
