    BlenderGIS can get you pretty good images.. you do need an API key to get set up but it's all free and you can even generate 3d geometry based on the elevations in the satellite images.. it tiles in blender so you the more you zoom the better the image quality to a point.

    Hey Mike, I'm sure you figured this out already, but when you first create the attribute type a number with the inch mark like 0" or 0' in the value box and hit enter. This will set the unit for that attribute to inches. This only works for the first time a value is entered. After that first initial value, you will need to use the attribute info dialog to make changes. In addition, you can use 0 to set it to text (not "Default: Text") and 0cm to set it to centimeters. If anyone knows a shortcut for setting the unit to Decimal Number, I would love to hear it!

    If you want to change to another material in the model - then use a plugin... Although it'd be relatively straightforward to make a longer one-liner to do that 'by-name'...

    If you are used to the SketchUcation Toolset, and prefer that, then you can use it instead of the native installer... Its submenu includes "SketchUcation Archive Installer..." which does what the native installer does... It works for RBZ archives - and additionally for even ZIP files, although these are now a lot less common these days - most things now come as RBZ format...

    in any sketchup version, select the underside of the wall, reverse this face, paint with a pattern, reverse face back, when cut it will show the pattern

    They don't have to be in C:\Users\Bob\AppData\Roaming\SketchUp\SketchUp 2018\SketchUp but assets should be stored locally. Did you add the component folders you have to your Favorites in the Components window?

    from within SU: sign out of your SketchUp / Trimble account sign back in from within SketchUp. if that doesn' work try closing and reopening SU in between the two steps above.

    I recall an inconsistency based on the cameras relationship to the axis... not sure if this is the same as it was many years ago... my 'memory' tells me I avoided this by moving geometry and camera so you never crossed the axis... it seemed that if any camera position included a negative, SU makes a decision whether to move clock or anti clockwise... and it's not always the same decision... does that make any sense? john

    It's odd that the model axes are different in each scene.I wonder what you are doing that makes that happen.I'd love to see your workflow in more detail.

    Can you confirm if its a seperate plug in? As Chipp said yes it's a plugin! And free! In fact there is even 2 different plugins as some Moi Members are very productive in this field! Elephant and a variation of Elephant! (Maybe only one with the soon new beta V 4 ? ) But don't forget with this sort of thing : it's more easy to use a "node(s)" than build its own one!     Hello, When SU takes longer than I expected,and when I did not save (especially for intersections), I open the autosaved version in a new window. I kept the autosave every 5 minutes in preferences, even if it's annoying while working on 100Mb+ files. This way I can work on my model while the first one is still working. (SU only uses one Core, so it shouldn't slow your PC even if it's working) You'll then get an AutoSave_AutoSave_filename.skp and so on. Just check the last autosave file's time or even open it in a new window like I do to check what you would lose in case you chose to force quit an hanging SU. Sometimes it's faster to lose 5 min work and find a workaround, SU beeing able to hang for hours !
