    • Save luminaires as components for later use

      Hi!
I am a lighting designer working mostly with interior projects. Usually I use Dialux, but I am looking into using Sketchup, that I have some basic knowledge of.

I understand it so that by using LightUp or Vray, I will be able to download IES-files for real luminaires and place the lights into 3d-models of the luminaires in question. I also think I will be able to generate heat maps that show at least the approximate resulting lux levels in my model.

Now, I do have some favorite luminaries that I use in many projects. Is it possible to make components out of a 3d-model of a luminaire and its IES-file? To be saved and used for other projects?
