BlenderGIS can get you pretty good images.. you do need an API key to get set up but it's all free and you can even generate 3d geometry based on the elevations in the satellite images.. it tiles in blender so you the more you zoom the better the image quality to a point.

Hey Mike, I'm sure you figured this out already, but when you first create the attribute type a number with the inch mark like 0" or 0' in the value box and hit enter. This will set the unit for that attribute to inches. This only works for the first time a value is entered. After that first initial value, you will need to use the attribute info dialog to make changes. In addition, you can use 0 to set it to text (not "Default: Text") and 0cm to set it to centimeters. If anyone knows a shortcut for setting the unit to Decimal Number, I would love to hear it!

Don't you just need to apply a suitable Lumion leaf material to the SU geometry? Your model should work - perhaps just intersect the groups and clean it up. Is this info relevant? [~5.15mins] https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CEecISrQVBg

Tip: I learned this from Nick Sonder video a couple of years back. You can quickly change scene properties in multiple scenes by selecting the scene with the properties you wish to have updated/changed and by either ctrl/shift click select more scenes and simply de-select and immediately re-select the properties you wish to update. Another thing you can do is the rename the .style to .zip and poke around to see the stroke styles. Best way to deconstruct is to load a style into StyleBuilder to see what setting were used where.

The Edit button for that path is gray because it isn't an editable path. you might try reinstalling SketchUp. Find the installer, right click on it and choose Run as administrator. Then choose Repair when the option shows itself.

Right then I got it working! There are 2 set/groups of registry keys, one that controls the toolbar locations and a 2nd one that controls the trays. I made a copy of both, rearranged my toolbars and trays, made a 2nd copy of both and I'm now able to import the appropriate reg file and then open SU with my chosen layout. I'm reluctant to post the regfile locations as I don't want to be responsible for screwing others setup up but if you ask I'll message you directly.

The only way a style could do that is with an overlay watermark image. Styles can't directly modify materials. You could make a single color image and add it as a watermark. Adjust the blending as needed. I used white in this example but a gray might be more appropriate. I set it up so the overlay only covered part of the screen for the example. If installing SketchUp using "Run as administrator" doesn't work for you... You might need to manually install the files it's choking on in the error message... That is Microsoft.NET framework 4.5.2 or better [64 & 32 bit] Which should include C++ libs 14 ? Download it separately and install it... https://www.microsoft.com/net/download/dotnet-framework-runtime/net452 Then retry installing SketchUp using "Run as administrator"...

The deletion of unwanted Bundles is a long-planned addition. But it's not available yet. I suggest you send a PM to Gábor - he can remove unwanted Bundles from your user-profile... Let him know what you want to vanish...

I'm assuming you mean the native context-menu tools... If you have a face that is reversed [i.e. it's showing back-material in View > Monochrome mode], you need to select it and then use the context-menu item to Reverse it. Note that if it's part of a larger surface that has been 'smoothed', then you'll first need to use View > Hidden Geometry > ON, so you can pick the face on its own. You can pick several faces using a fence or the the modifier keys and reverse them all at once... If you have a number of connected faces and some of them are reversed, then you can select one of the faces that is correctly oriented and chose the context-menu item to Orient. This then adjusts all faces so that they then match the one selected face's orientation. Note that if the faces do not all touch, or some edges have more that two faces associated with them, then the Orient method can give you unexpected results...

It works for me here, in fact its quite annoying in that there's no way in the UI to reset the dialog, except reset workspace but that would reset everything. To turn the dialog back on you need to edit the .json preferences file. Have a look at this file: ~/Library/Application Support/SketchUp 2018/SketchUp/SharedPreferences.json ShowSectionToolDlg is set false when you click that box, but there's then no way to untick it apart from editing this file (or using defaults in terminal). If it has never been set that line may not be there. [pre:2srkkumf]"Preferences": { … "ShowSectionToolDlg": false,[/pre:2srkkumf] Edit at your own risk and there's something wrong anyway if SketchUp isn't writing the preference file to disk at least when you quit SketchUp.

Edit: OK the easiest way I could do it was to create the copings on a straight arc then use Shape bender. Then you might have to adjust with soften/smooth window a little. Copings are made by selecting the top face (or just the outline) of the arc and copying lower down, then use regular push-pull. [image: SXMO_ScreenShot2018-05-29at11.07.16AM.png]

Thanks for the reply. I was able to get better results using a program that limited the distance of the triangulation lines and then bringing that into sketchup. Ultimately though we ended up sending the file back to the surveyor to obtain additional break lines to use. We were able to get a usable topo. Thanks again

There's also the Reduce Polygons function built into Artisan. However I agree with Dave R that you should try cleaning up the model first. Otherwise the Blender option is pretty good even with complex geometry. It has the added benefit of retaining UV mapping too.

Doesn't sound like a dynamic component or geolocation issue if it is removed by save and reopen. Perhaps you can record it to gif or vid next time it happens.
