K-tools does the same job Use the Round Edge function. I have it assigned to a shortcut key. Works great!

@unknownuser said: @edson said: this could be a script on its own but perhaps it could be part of fredo's Tools on Surface. if a single line polyline is possible and it is there why not have a double line tool as well? Edson, I am working on this (I call it 'Rail'), but it would be a function that you apply afterward to a contour. The reason is that if you draw directly in Rail mode, then you would have no clean junction for a next portion of contour that would be drawn afterward. Also, you often use several tools to draw a contour (ex: Line and Arcs) and you may want to Edit it before transforming it into a wall. This should be in Version 1.4 of ToolsOnSurface. Fredo thanks, fredo. one more great thing to thank you for. look forward to using it.

Unfortunately, DrapeOnSurface would take a planar drawing and just drape it onto the surface. To adjust volumes along a shaped surface requires much more work and a very different approach, since basically you would need to deform the whole 3D shape, with changes to the original geometry (just imagine a cube falling in the bowl!)

Didier, Sorry, I didn't mean to argue - it wasn't about winning a debate. You were right that there IS a solution possible, and you made it happen Good job! BTW, the test for a scene in a slideshow is page.label==page.name

Your going to have to do a bit of guesswork in merging the 2 faces together anyway, so i dont think adding a row or so of extra geometry would make much of a difference in the majority of cases. You could always do a bit of plating around with the terrain afterwards.

Todd, I hope this makes sense. [image: image1.jpg] Activate the script and pick the point you wish to be the origin. In this case the lower left corner of the top face. I didn't quite know how to illustrate it but the next step would be to drag along the two edges for X and Y directions. It would be a bit like dragging for the ellipse plugin or the Tools on Surface rectangle or ellipse. A total of three mouse clicks would be required: origin, anlong X direction and along Y direction. [image: image2.jpg] Script generates guidepoints at the centers of all circles and arcs on the face that lies on plane defined by the X and Y from the previous step. (In the interest of time I didn't put all the points in these screen grabs. [image: image3.jpg] Leader text callouts applied to centerpoints and a CSV (or Space separated?) is generated with callouts and point coordinates. A 1.1835 3.20931 B 1.3825 3.261931 C 1.5815 3.316931 and so on. The holes on this part were originally genetated from a table similar to this. I created a TXT file and imported it with Didier's Points Cloud plugin. I just want to come up with the reverse. In my example there's no need for a Z value. CLear as mud?

this would indeed be a nice tool. then my suggestion for this tool would be unnecessary... but even better would be a script that lets you adjust the segment legths of several selected faces or edges. the workflow would be like this: you select the faces in question and simply type in either the desired number of segments (for example 25) or the length of one segment (for example 56mm). alternatively you can rightclick on one of the faces and choose "adjust segment lengths". [image: adjustsegmentssy3xn5.jpg] of course there are difficult questions to be answered first, like: what happens if the desired segment length doen't fit into one of the curves? is SketchUp then allowed to change the endpoint of one curve (and therefore the startpoint of the neighbouring curve as well) sligthly to get the same segment length throughout the selected geometry? the very first and the very last point of the overall selected form have to stay put, so that the connection to the rest of the model is not broken...

yes, a "zorro freeform" tool would be great - along with the ability to use zorro in parallel projection. oh yes, and in addition to the freeform a "zorro polyline" would come in handy... and now lets get really high-spirited... a ZORRO BLASTER [image: zorroblastvl2.jpg] (the selfmade form sticks to your cursor... and then you blast the hell out of your model )

The problem is that,it seams, there is no method available in SU Ruby to read 2D panning - same used for foto-matched images. If you investigate the photo-match tool - the camera stays exactly in the same position, only SU performs 'OpenGL region render'. I am afraid Google has not allowed us to read the 'cropped' image coordinates to prevent SU Free users exporting High Res images from SU (stitched from smaller parts). It is the reason why I (SU2KT) cannot export photo matched perspectives correctly when user has panned the view. Maybe more experienced Ruby Masters will know a workaround? Tomasz

Well there must be a way to do it, but not by ruby script I think. If they just would make it the same as GE which has a dynamic center of rotation

@rv1974 said: Hi TIG and thanks for "Extrude Along Path"... I just thought you could turn it to real bomb with some MUST HAVE improvements: Batch processing for multiple NOT connected paths Intersection sensitive. Please delete this useless construction line creation. May be it's too much a little...- Option for circle or\and OMG... custom profile?... Possible: but needs recoding to suit... Difficult to 'mitre' all intersecting bits... Easy done - see below for DIY instructions... For circles/polygons try my TubeAlongPath and PipeAlongPath scripts available where you find ExtrudeAlongPath (e.h. Didier's site). Using custom faces is possible - see Didier's balustrade script that lets you make custom face sections etc... How to remove clines... Make a backup copy of the script in case of mess ups... Open the script in Notepad.exe or a similar plain text editor - NOT Word or other word-processors. Find every line containing 'cline'. Add ### at the very start of each line so that it's not read. There should be about 10 lines to add ### to... Save and run = no more clines...
