Useful Script Idea
-
When modelling I'm continuously having to refer to a brick size chart and key numbers into SU.
My thoughts are therefore that a script could do the following;
-
Allow firstly user input of the modular brick / tile size (length, width and depth) and the joint width,
-
The script auto generates a table that defines multiples of lenght based on this data for external faces (outside of bricks = [bricks + joint] x ? - [1 x joint]), internal faces (inside of bricks = [bricks + joint] x ? - [2 x joint]) and re-entrant faces (outside of bricks to inside or return corner = [bricks + joint] x ?), and heights ([bricks + joint] x ?),
-
The script allows user to define table as library,
-
The script hopefully by shortcut drawings a line, rectangle or scaling to dimensions set from the table where the user makes the selection with the mouse or arrow keys!
Not sure all this is possible or easy but consider it would be darn useful within SU!
Any takers? Cheers Richard

Nice idea Richard and yes I too have to always reference the chart, more so in ACAD than SU but it would be a really helpful way of modelling accurately.
