Well, scaling the model seemed to help quite a bit. Here is what I have, though Im still tweaking. Any suggestions, especially about getting rid of the burnout, but keeping the radius of light? [image: W02Q_20080603153052_23m14s.jpg]

Yes, it is a centrifugal pump. The hard part to draw is the discharge "Tube/pipe". Its diameter changes from where it connects to the body and ENLARGES significantly at the outlet end where there is a flange to which piping is connected (as shown with the red outline). Thus, the posting about whether the subdivision script could be used to speed up the drawing process of the discharge "Tube/pipe".

Sorry, it seems like I didn't explain myself properly. I have downloaded and installed Space design without any problem. But the part that calculates material is not there

@edson said: @thomthom said: When you download V-Ray material you need to relink the bitmap textures. and how does one do that? You have to examine the material in the V-Ray material editor. Whenever you see a large M inspect it and see if it's a Bitmap material. If it is, then you have to relocate the bitmap file on your computer. Once you've relinked a material you can export it. Then you don't have to reload the bitmaps every time you import the material.

[quote="jnnyyngz"]...I downloaded su2kt_3.0 and put the file in the sketchup plugin folder.../quote] Did you just put the zip file in the plugins folder or did you actually unzip it there? Also, if you unzipped it, did you check View (menu) > Toolbars > SU2Kerkythea (somewhere in the bottom)?

Hello Abe, Thanks for the answers, if you don’t mind I have a few more questions. On the site I saw a trial version for Max but not for SU, are there plans having one; would be nice to be able to play a little and then decide whether I want to purchase? In the free version of Hypercosm, section planes don’t seem to work while this option seems very necessary to me to have. I saw advertised that section planes are supported in the pro version. Could you say a little more about how this will work? Are section planes being switched on and off by changing scenes or styles or whatever? I saw mentioned that Hypercosm does not have a mac version, is there a mac player so that people can view the content on a mac or is that also still in the making? This Hypercosm thing seems very powerful and useful. I’m just trying to figure out what the best route will be of presenting my work to clients, this software seems to be a excellent choice, however it stands or falls with how popular this format will be; I guess it all depend on how many people are going to use it. Thank you for you time and answers. Kind regards, Robert

Oliver, Hi. I'm sorry, but there are no current plans to support Linux, although that could change if we receive requests for Linux support. We supported Linux from about 1999 through about 2001, but there just wasn't enough interest in a Linux based player to continue supporting the platform. From a technical standpoint, there are no major issues in supporting Linux again, it's just a matter of time and resources since it's another platform that we need to maintain and test as web browsers and operating systems continue to evolve. -abe. All you need to do is draw a plane and move it just above the grass ha is causing the problem. If you then paint it with a material with a very low opacity so you can harldy see it, and perhaps add a tiny bit of reflection.

@kwistenbiebel said: Thanks for the reply Remus. The thing is that when I apply subsmooth it generates a small group of just 4 triangles. The rest of the model doesn't get subdivided at all.... This happens on occasion when you are doing a subD with 'copy materials' turned on. SketchUp will throw an error if it tries to create a face that is excessively small. If you had the Ruby Console window turned on, you would see an error message about 'points not being co-planar'. One workaround is to group the geometry according to material and avoid using 'copy materials'. Then, just apply the material to the 'group', not the individual faces.

As far as i can tell subd and smooth is really 2 operations, one that subdivides all the geometry and then one that smooths it. The plugin lets you do both of these at the same time or just one at a time. So if youve got some geometry that youve already subdividedbut hasnt been smoothed you can smooth it without having to subdivide further, which would produce no-quite-right results and very high poly geometry. One more slight difference is that when it (smooth) has finished changing the geometry it doesnt soften all the lines.

Yey! After a quick look at page 22 and 17 I managed to scale and get my material quite the way I wanted. Thank you so much Fredrik for the guide. It's getting printed first thing tomorrow morning at school //Henrik [image: OGZi_studio_master7.jpg] [image: 5mE0_studio_master6.jpg]

James, OK, I did some with 1 iteration. That results in a much lower poly count. Thanks again, Tom
