Aaahhhh....
Those are render presets... Never used these LR01-04 presets myself...
To be honest I'm not exactly sure what they're used for, but if I remember correct, they're there to help 3dsMax users for some layered render techniques...
Those are useful with post processing, for example if you want to add a controlled bloom.
Fixed it myself!!
Its late ... I forgot about the SmustardOrganizerExcludeFolders exclusion list.
Added the Subsmooth folder to the list and all is well with the world again
although i had already praised kim's work privately i may as well say publicly that he is done a helluva job. it is a terrific improvement on what we had before as it covers most of the important topics in a very clear way. well done indeed!
creating a great app is a tremendous effort and must be highly praised. however, i feel that documenting well what you are offering people is almost as important.
the clearer it is how to use KT the more users it will have.
Kevin,
Good start. You could try to make the building more impressive by lowering your camera and walk somewhat closer to the building. You will get more detail about the building.
Version 2 is indeed slower than previous version. Something that is common in the wonderfull world of software. Newer software, more features, higher quality demands memory and calculation power. In the case of ArtLantis it is a low price considering the improvement of quality.

Certainly better texturing, using bumps and clipmaps, better camera and more context. I personally would rather use sky or more realistic background colour.
I found the correct page for downloading stuff earlier today. Thanks people!
Now to "mine" the forum for those little gems that sometimes hide away in there.
Clemantine, there are a couple different ways to get your elevation data into SU. A TIN like Gaieus suggests has worked well for me, let me know if you have trouble creating that in GIS and I'd be glad to help, send me a PM. You could also do contours. I haven't used the cloud.rb but based on what I know about LIDAR it's probably your best bet and worth the time to figure out.
What GIS software are you using?
How large is your study area? Large terrain models with a lot of detail can get unwieldy.
