Certainly better texturing, using bumps and clipmaps, better camera and more context. I personally would rather use sky or more realistic background colour.

I found the correct page for downloading stuff earlier today. Thanks people! Now to "mine" the forum for those little gems that sometimes hide away in there.

Clemantine, there are a couple different ways to get your elevation data into SU. A TIN like Gaieus suggests has worked well for me, let me know if you have trouble creating that in GIS and I'd be glad to help, send me a PM. You could also do contours. I haven't used the cloud.rb but based on what I know about LIDAR it's probably your best bet and worth the time to figure out. What GIS software are you using? How large is your study area? Large terrain models with a lot of detail can get unwieldy. Eric

Alpha 3 is being tested internally, but there is lots of work to do. I can't elaborate on timescale though I'm afraid.

OK, Lorenzo, I see what you mean. At the KT Depository (Download link) you can access to some free content such as lots of nice materials and some 3D trees. Some of the materials were created by the enthusiastic members of the KT community, others were transformed from (free) offerings of 3rd party products. The 3D content is also the courtesy of 3rd party companies but adjusted to Kerky. This does not sound much but considering that it is free, it's already a rich collection. Also the KT Team transformed a lot of other 3rd party content (trees etc) into KT but since they are commercial products of 3rd party companies, you can only access them if you can prove that you have purchased those products already. The KT Team's courtesy is that they made it perfectly usable in KT and this KT version then will be provided to you free. Again, note that most of the content is created by the members themselves and shared selflessly but all of them have their own lives, jobs, families, friends etc. and this content is not made in masses like those of some commercial renderes. With the smart use of the already existing "RPC" content you can already create beautiful scenes.

I find a bug splat message when I have alot of groups usually alot of small groups. Try to make it so you have the least groups that you can possibly have.

Hi Roger, I suggest that you simply put your XML-file in the same folder as your textures... This will ensure that KT will find them... Did you re-export your model - or part of it - and then use the "merge" tool..?? It seem as if you've exported this scene with the Export default UVs set to "YES"... If this is the case I suggst that you re-export again with "No" instead...

Dragonslayer / Tony Welcome to SCF. The coding of games is not my realm however there are one or two guys that frequent this forum that will sure be able to help you, one of them is very active in the creation of a well known Isometric game called 'Sim City'. I am not a KT user so I cannot verify if it is able to render diametric images, however I do know that Blender is very well used for this genre and has a m3g export facillity. As far as detailing is concerned, it can be achieved with complex modeling, but that would just slow you down, creating detailed textures would be best IMO. Now Makehuman may be free and all but the sizes are rediculously large and frankly too detailed for the perspectives and gaming requirements, I unfortunatey do not know of any alternatives besides creating ones own lower poly textured people. If you however find any solutions or have a workflow that indeed works well please let us know as there lurks many interested folks on these forums.

Nice work, Tina. The last kitchen render is great - the added depth and realism of the shadows in combination with your style are stunning. Keep posting your progress.
