@tig said: .... copying their RB and matching subfolder into the SketchUp...ShippedExtensions folder. This means that if SketchUp ever decides to re-copy these into Plugins, then you won't get the old version back ! Then you've got to remember to keep the plugin folder and the ShippedExtensions folder synchronized ! More headache

Thank you a TONfor your help. As you can see below I have a couple of questions. This all started when I updated the drivers. SketchUp uses OpenGL. I'd expect your Graphics Card to have > v3.? OpenGL v4.5 Ensure that its drivers are up to date, Version 391.35 is the latest and it is enabled for SketchUp etc... Do you mean that Trimble SketchUp is in the Manage 3d Settings list? Use your NVIDIA Control Panel and set it to 'Let the 3d application decide'... Let the 3d application decide what? OpenGL? Hardware Acceleration? SketchUp should auto-configure itself... %(#FF0000)[Good ] Under its 'Manage 3d Settings'... == Trimble SketchUp Either accept all of the default settings, or consider removing it from the list if it's still being awkward... This has all of the default settings since I did not go into NVidia Control Panel/3D Settings/Manage 3D Settings to change any of the 21 settings

Hi Bob, For each Flex component, there are two component types to choose from, depending on the modeling situation. There are 'Standard' components and 'Single-Face-Cutting' components (Not wall cutting!). Standard: The standard components are the kind you can place anywhere, rotate them, scale them, move them - they don't stick to any faces, and they don't have any wall geometry included in them. They are suitable for if you have pre-cut holes. (So for the example you showed, where there is a pre-cut hole on the left, you'd want to use a 'Standard' component). Cutting: The cutting components stick to the faces you place them on, and by default they cut through a single face, as long as they are placed directly on the geometry they are cutting. They can be used in two different situations: For mass modeling with walls that have no thickness (single face). The cutting components cut through the face, and come with their own wall geometry. (You can change the wall thickness from within the component settings). This is very convenient for quick modeling of exteriors, where the interior is not important. In combination with 3rd party plugins, like 'double-cut', you can cut through double-faced walls (which I believe is what you were trying to do with the window on the right). Flex components and the double-cut plugin work together, but I don't feel it is a complete solution. There are still some issues that need ironing out. To toggle between 'standard' and 'cutting' components: [image: HfLu_flextools_cutting-toggle-standard.png] [image: TTTF_flextools_cutting-toggle-cutter.png]

They don't have to be in C:\Users\Bob\AppData\Roaming\SketchUp\SketchUp 2018\SketchUp but assets should be stored locally. Did you add the component folders you have to your Favorites in the Components window?

Yes please. Sketchup's current inability to automatically collapse unused tray space is the main reason why Sketchup's old windowed UI behaviour is still preferable.

@pixero said: The great thing is that you can scale a selected object or image without rescaling the entire SU scene. That was true before the change to having to use ctrl. I have often built up a scene by building part of it and then bringing in a photo containing a dimensioned line drawing then scaling it to "real" size: the rest of the models in the scene were not affected by the rescaling of the picture.

I can replicate it. With a radius ~1" the segments should be long enough to exist, do it fails. So the in-built 1/1000" issue should not kick in as the segments are considerably longer than that. Making it say ~2", then it does not present the issue at all... [image: iRIb_Capture.PNG]

TIG, Thank you. I don't remember ever hearing about that. Although moving away from the edge, intersecting and moving the result back to the edge leaves segments that, if deleted, deletes the whole brown filling of the plane! After deleting them and redrawing the right edge in two parts ending with the circle segment restores the fill with the hole breaking the edge, BUT, the hole in the center is filled in and not clickable for deletion. Mission sort of accomplished. [image: chiD_hole3.PNG] [image: 3av4_hole4.PNG] [image: rY36_hole5.PNG]

Never knew that existed "Access to our technical support resources" would have been useful. Fortunately, although I was never able to sign in with my Trimble account, I was able to sign in with my Google account and have not had any problem since.

@bob james said: @jim said: Bob, if you happened to add that Layer using my Add Layer extension, it may have been set to be not visible for any new Layers added to the model. Any chance of that? Thank you, Jim, but I just right-clicked on the scene tab The Layers Panel extension may also have the ability to add Layers which are off on new Scenes. Did you get the model from someone else who may have used either extension? It would be interesting to examine the actual model.

I think this is more exiting than some videos from 2014. http://sketchucation.com/forums/viewtopic.php?f=80%26amp;t=64302 This is a early version without many features but it's for real and its right inside SketchUp.
