Yes, I forgot you shared that previously. Great find. Wish it allowed for scaling of the templates.

@Box said in Faces Splitting Up at random: Go View/Hidden geometry. This should show you where your faces are split. I am using sketchup for years. This was the greatest tip that I've ever seen. It eased all my pain that I've experienced through out the tough years passed struggling with random triangles.

I sorted the large component (with Externally link!), that contained the original imported file, by moving items out of it by Cutting / Pasting. I then deleted the component from the 'Components Window' The other Components I added/created - including some with Externally links!) were sorted by following these steps: 1- Rename the Component I want to turn into a internal component by adding XXX (CompName XXX) 2- In the model on one of the Components instances right-click and select 'Reset Scale' (ie it scaled it to it's actual size). Remember I was working on a modal that was 100 times larger than actual size but I created the components at actual size and scaled them up! 3- Explode this instance and Right-Click the selected items and make a new Component (and named it CompName), before clicking 'Create' 'Set Component Axes' to the same point/direction as the original component (this is very important because of my next steps). I also selected 'Any' for Glue to Alignment. 4- Delete this new component in your model and re-add it using the Components Window. 5- Scale it up by x100 (I find that it scales up from the component’s axes because of the 'Glue to'). 6- In the Model select all the renamed original components (CompName XXX that have the External Link), then in the 'Components Window' Right-Click the new component (CompName) and select 'Replace Selected' 7- In the Components Window delete the old renamed component (CompName XXX), you can use 'Purge Unused' from the drop down. Job Done, I can scale the whole model without an issue.

Dale's BoolTools2 works in newer Pro and Make, and it offers a better Boolean experience for all users for a modest fee...

Thank You cery much TIG. Kaspersky setting is so complex. Happily I have found that Application Control has had a control on blocking Sketchup functions. Bizarre enough Sketchup.exe has been fully allowed. Finally I have removed all Sketchup presence from Kadpersky list and activated App Control within Kaspersky and...I think I have managed to fix the mysterious blocking. Once more thank you for your taking precious time dropping a line here. My best regards.

I have seen other reports of problems with Vray. Try disabling Vray and see if the behavior in SketchUp improves. You should also get on their forum and see if anyone has a solution.

As Pilou points out you need to split the wall up to paint different faces. Afterwards you can use Combine Textures to merge different materials into one material.

If you are still using Thea download their Licensed Materials from the Licensed Material Club. Or make you own the Material Lab in Thea.... [image: NivN_thea_2017-06-10_11-05-15.png] Use a Glossy material layer, add bump using procedural textures and tweak the scale. Also adds some anisotropy to get the proper reflections. [image: C4X5_thea-render.png] Obviously this is not the best example render but a quick way to show how to use procedural textures in Thea. They wont render in Presto though but you can use Adaptive AMC with the GPU.

Thank you pbacot and Rich o Brien for your amazing answers. I have followed the method using Curviloft because it was such simple and one step. Since i had an urgent requirement to complete the design soon, but i will learn the method using Sandbox tools as mentioned by Brien. Thanks once again, my issue is solved. have a great day.

I made a texture material from a photo of the stone wall & then applied it to the surface created by skinning the top and bottom lines.

JPP (inwards) plus Round JPP works perfectly in topic starter's example. but, a better corner handling is indeed welcomed. P.S. (off topic) this thing is truly amazing, I put it almost in every material: https://docs.chaosgroup.com/display/VRAY3MAX/Edge+Map+%7C+VRayEdgesTex [image: CAmM_Capture.JPG]

The first effort that I actually attached to one of my responses was done with the follow me tool, and I usually add materials by using my own samples and swatches. I work in Special Events and so more often than not have to add the actual material being used to the render not just something close. The clients can be very literal, and expect that what they see is what they get - to the t. This was a challenge for sure, and I will keep on trying time permitting with various methods until I can come up with something acceptable. The decor for every event seems to become more of a head scratcher and I am not the best SU user. I don't work exclusively in SketchUp so trying to keep up with "continuing education" in the various programmes that I use just never seems to leave enough time to focus on just one. Have a lovely weekend.
