It might be an installation issue... If you have set the SketchUp.exe file's properties to always 'run as administrator' [or you right-click it and 'run as administrator'] this can mask issues which resulted from an incorrect installation initially [see later]. The downside of setting SketchUp this way is that you then prevent Image drag'n'drop. Windows Explorer always runs at the base level of permissions. Elevating SketchUp's permissions above that then causes an issue. Windows does not allow an application to affect another application running at a higher level. So drag'n'drop no longer works ! Change the setting[s] and drag'n'drop should work once again... SketchUp needs to be installed properly. Select the SketchUp installer's exe file, and right-click > context-menu > 'Run as administrator' This will ensure it installs and then runs properly later on. Being the admin, or having admin powers, is not the same as running it 'properly'... If you already have SketchUp installed you probably don't need to reinstall it from scratch. Close SketchUp, then run the installer as administrator as outlined above. When prompted choose 'Repair'. When SketchUp restarts all should be correct. Any Plugins etc should be remembered as before... If you still have problems try uninstalling and immediately reinstalling - running as admin etc...

Guy's glad you chimed in on this, I ran out of steam.... Charlie_V, Tig , Think you guys hit it spot on as a problem with the image itself. That didn't dawn on me , ,I've gotten in the habit of pre checking images in Gimp early on due to weirdness like this. Didn't think to mention check the image ...... Pbacot, Yeah... thought I could help the O.P. by "reverse engineering" the problem also known as"shooting in the dark". Got a taste of what you SU guru's go through... not so easy. Brings up a question for you guy's, hope you see this. I discovered early on mac + pdf image = weird behavior , so learned not to use them pesky .pdf's. What's up with that out of general curiosity ?

Seeing the model So you must modelize it in detail! (one module) with 2 different textures (plain & drilled) And use MSPhysics by Anton or Animator by Fredo for anim them! TIG, Thanks, that did the trick! I didn't see those edges in there, until you posted a screenshot showing them, that's why. I deleted the extrusion the way you said and then drew a line over part of the "holes" which caused the face to form and that fixed that issue. I'm not sure why that caused a face to form, but it did. Now I can recess or raise the logo as needed. I've attached what I have done thus far. Thanks for all the help.

YES! I see now. That is some pretty sweet re-engineering of the pretty remedial string functions! I do wish FIND would just return FALSE if the string is not found but oh well. Thanks Again pcmoor!

As of right now, I am not sure there is a very good solution. I spoke with Bryce directly and he told me, "It seems that something is going on with how terrain data is served and how the resolution of the grid is determined. We're going to try to make some improvements but I don't know when you'll see them." Thats the best they can offer right now.

You can also get the transferring rotated axis if you inference your plane with the rotation tool, and then press one time the down arrow on your keyboard. This blocks that inference in place and lets you put the rotation tool in the position you want.

There's a subscription page. You should have an account. Set it up if you haven't at the Valiarchitects site. Save the page in browser. For me it just comes up with my full info every time I select the bookmark. Your browser setup may work differently. There are renew buttons lower on the subscription page.

I think the "reverse" as you say, is there in the LO Document Setup. You can see all the SU files that are referenced in the LO file, unless I am missing something. I have wanted within SU, at least to be able to identify (and open or "go to") the LO files that are referencing a SU file. You have some good points, but I think this simple info would be a start.

You really should only resort to plugins to do such basic things once you can do them manually or you severely limit your understanding of and ability to progress with the software.
