The object is 1/4" thick by 5" long by approx. 4" I will try the scaling method to see if it works with the follow me tool. I just installed fredo round corner. Can round corner do a full half moon round moulding like I am trying to do with the follow me tool? Or would I have to draw two round corner profiles that match up at the half way point ?

I still have to save the skms back to the folder i want and then upload the collection, but bringing the images in into sketchup is the real timesuck.

Yes. Open a new file and set the dimensions to the units you want to use. Then use File>Save as template. Make sure that template is selected to be the default. From then on, you'll use the same units in each model unless you change them in Model Info.

Thanks for the link. Guess I wasn't using the right search terms. Crap indeed. I tried the revit importer-to-revit-to-sketchup work around and it bloated my model from 11mb to 76mb. Since I didn't have time to experiment with other options I had power through it. I told the higher-ups until I find another route, models requiring heavy terrain work will either have poor accuracy or will require a topo survey. Since topo's are rarely handed out with requests for proposals it looks like we're going with poor accuracy.

With SU2017, that is no longer an option. The rendering is done by the GPU. That means the GPU must be sufficient. Again, what graphics card? What driver version? There have also been many user reports of delays related to some files Microsoft pushed in automatic updates. Removing those fixed the problem. First, make sure your graphics drivers are up to date and that your graphics card can support OpenGL 3.0 or higher.

Thanks Fredo. Do you think it possible to technically achieve this? In particular, I'm interested in a workflow where all hard edges are rounded for a given object at once. Even better if it can be proxied, so one could continue working in the non-rounded version, then update the proxy. Blender has a great set of plugins called hard ops, which does this. I use the axis tool and align it with a wall corner on the plan. So, on the cabinet wall, I can take the tape measure tool and search for a corner of a cabinet door for a reference point from which to measure and it doesn't find a corner to reference. You didn't encounter this? Are you on a PC or Mac? I'm on a Mac Thank you!
