      Greetings,

I would like to install a plugin via the Extension Manager (SU 2017) and at my suprise the windoww is clearly white - empty/blank.

I have Kaspersky 2017 Total Security installed but I am not able to find any culprit.
One can say the access to SU Plugin folder is blocked. No message/prompt alas.

      Windows 10 Pro 64 bit.

I would be deeply thankful; for any piece of advice.
      Thank you in advance.

        Try running SketchUp as Admin.

Right click the desktop icon or Start menu entry and choose Run as Admin

Download the free D'oh Book for SketchUp πŸ“–

When you installed SketchUp, did you right click on the installer and choose Run as administrator? If not, SketchUp is not installed correctly. Reinstall it using Run as administrator and choose the option to repair when it pops up.

SketchUp must be installed by using 'Run as administrator' in the installer exe files context-menu.
Running SketchUp itself 'as admin' might side step some issues that result from an incorrect installation.
If using it that way resolves some issues you should reinstall properly.
You should never need to run SketchUp as admin...
In fact doing so will break some functions - e.g. you cannot then drag-and-drop an image file into a SketchUp model's window, because Windows prevents an application affecting another application which is running with higher permissions, and by elevating SketchUp to 'admin' it means that Windows-Explorer [which always runs at the base permissions level] then can't react with it as it ought to be able to !

              Greetings,

              You are awesome.
I do thank you for your pieces of advice.

I have removed and reinstalled (repair did not solve the issue) Sketchup keeping all my plugins.
Extension Manager has well reacted this time.

The only thing is I have to rebuild a workspace, toolbars, trays, etc.

Once more my huge thanks to all of you above.

                Bad news.

After certain time the problem returns.
This time I have found that there is something wrong with kaspersky TTS 2017 Application Control Settings. When disabled SU Extension Manager is active.

I have no idea what option (permission)change and first of all find that culprit.

Certainly I will contact Kaspersky support as well.

You probably need to let Kaspersky know that SketchUp is safe. There's probably a setting for that.

Most virus-checkers have a settings toolset.
This includes something like a 'whitelist', where you can tell it to allow certain applications or websites to communicate with you.
You might need to include SketchUp and SketchUcation.com etc...

                      Thank You cery much TIG.

                      Kaspersky setting is so complex.
Happily I have found that Application Control has had a control on blocking Sketchup functions.
Bizarre enough Sketchup.exe has been fully allowed.

Finally I have removed all Sketchup presence from Kadpersky list and activated App Control within Kaspersky and...I think I have managed to fix the mysterious blocking.

Once more thank you for your taking precious time dropping a line here.

                      My best regards.
