BlenderGIS can get you pretty good images.. you do need an API key to get set up but it's all free and you can even generate 3d geometry based on the elevations in the satellite images.. it tiles in blender so you the more you zoom the better the image quality to a point.

TIG's ExtrudeAlongPath.rb - select the path then specify rectangle's details... or ExtrudeEdgesByFace.rb where you draw a flat rectangular [or any shaped] face with up as its Y/green axis and have a path of welded edges...

The method in the QuarrIT pdf is the best way to remember your toolbars and restore them BUT if there's a version update or you have several new installed then running it can give unexpected results, you need to make regular backups of your registry so that when it does fail you know where you'll 'restore' back to...

Sketchup doesn't handle large coordinates very well. That means problems when you import from DWG where things are very far from Origin - especially if it's drawn in real world coordinates. When importing a DWG copy what you need to a new DWG file and move everything near Origin. Note that blocks with insertion point set far away from the geometry will also behave badly - you need to adjust the insertion points for these as well.

Never mind about the problem any more guys, i solved it. I did the simpliest thing, i restored the system to 9 o'clock yesterday before the changes happen, and it worked. Thank you very much for your help guys, and Tig thanks for the special help mate, about the administrator options.

Select an instance of it and right-click, the context-menu item 'Save_As' then exports that component to a chosen location. A similar method is also available even if there are no instances - in the Component Browser hover over its icon in the Model pane and right-click again you have 'Save_As' again... To use that component in another model use File > Import, or if it's in a folder in you Components' paths then pick it from there in the Component Browser. Another way is to Edit > Copy an instance and then in the other model's window Edit > Paste [you choose the location] or Edit > Paste_in_Place to put it exactly where it was in the original model...

@unknownuser said: Extrude a selected profile along a path. This tool solves the twisting problem that occurs when using Sketchup's standard followme tool on a sloping path. @TIM You have also 1001bits (video of the tool) A damned good tools box for architects! or other artists

I'm guessing you are not using the latest V-Ray for Sketchup and the jpeg texture you try to render is an Image. (It says Image in the Entity Info window when you select it?) Before v1.48.66 of VfSU it did not render Image elements. You have the explode it. We have a V-Ray section here at the forum: http://forums.sketchucation.com/viewforum.php?f=322 And please mention what version of VfSU when asking question as the answer often depends on this. Also: screenshots of your SU model and your test renders greatly help when answering. If you have a small test model then you can add that to the post as well.

I always have appreciated the philosophy of Google and they have been good to make all kinds of useful information belong to people, not to corporates(in terms of their mission statement). I think they are making efforts to make the exclusive format of DWG more universal. This is just start. For those who want to make this world better, they need to participate and put up with the inconvenience along the necessary change. A corporate can easily dominate a market with their enormous money and sometimes the method that the company takes along their profit is not necessarily good for the majority of human kind. Once it happens, it is really hard to make it back. I believe Google is the one of those corporates with good will. I value their idea that they try to bring the result of one's effort back to the creator(3D model and its information to the creator in this case). There are many ways to work around; you can stick to the previous version, you can buy or download a DWG import/exporter ruby plugin, or just buy the Pro version. I have benefited from all the things Google provides for free. May be, this is one small thing that I can participate to support their philosophy, having patience and shifting from old habit to new one.

The only problem is that all the scenes will be updated with the layers you have selected/deselected and that is not the intention is it? So the problem remains I right?

There are exceptions and if an exception has its meaningful explanation, the students should understand and accept those exceptions. After the intersection and clean-up, you can safely scale the model back (like I did in the attached file). This won't contradict with the "general rule" either as you end up with a 1:1 scale model just have used a trick to come around an OpenGL limitation.
