Is there a way when selecting objects to select faces only and not edges?

When you select a face (one click), only the face is selected, so ????

If you hide the edges, you can select all and erase the faces, then unhide, and will be left with the edges. If a component, you may have to explode it.

Here's one way to do it:

Try selecting everything you want. Then turn to wireframe mode (turn on the "Face Style" toolbar to make that easier). Once in wireframe, hold down the alt button while dragging the select tool to unselsect the edges. Now switch back to "Shaded with Textures" face style and you'll see that you have all the faces selected, and no lines.

OR if you turn off display edges in the styles dialog, you can select faces only by dragging the selection box.

Or, you could use my Selection Toys plugin: http://forums.sketchucation.com/viewtopic.php?f=323&t=14975

Personally I've assigned Ctrl+1 to select only Edges and Ctrl+2 to select only faces. Shortcuts I use all the time.
