How to model this

Could somebody help me with this. I have been trying to model the shape that can be modeled with Follow Me Tool, but it is not giving exactly what I want. How would you model the same shape (rounded end)? Is there some plugin that would help me?

The follow me tool has some problems when you use it to lathe shapes around not a full circle (due to circles being segmented in SU). Without going into the deep details of this issue for the time being, the best would be to make the whole "dome" shape then turn on hidden geometry and delete the half of it. Certainly temporarily grouping the rest of the geometry would also be a good strategy so that you can easily hide/unhide it as well as it won't "Stick" to the dome geometry while you are modelling it.

Thanks for the help.
I got decent results by doing the whole dome and then erasing the half of it. And, with this Extrude Edges by Rail plugin it worked just perfect.
