    • Scene Update problem

The "create hidden layer" plug-in works very nice, but still I think Google should make an upgrade here in the software. In Scene Update in Scene Manager you can update all different properties for all selected scenes. The only problem is "visible layers". Here you need to update alle the "visible layers" to selected scenes. This is not working because I mostly have many layers, and I dont want to update alle the layers to all the selected scenes, just one or two. I suggest to add a meny that lets me decide wich layers I want to update in selected scenes. In other words I want to select both layers and scenes, not only sceness in the Scene Update meny. May be it is possible to do anything with that with a plugin. I dont know.

    • RE: Group visibility and Scenes

Usually I dont hide structure in the outliner on different pages, just layers. But when I tried it out the other day I found that scenes only can remember hiding the first level of groups. Hiding layers in different scenes is working fine for me and I use it always also as I construct the model. But maybe there are other workflows that works fine too. I am not sure because this is the way I usually work.

    • RE: Keeping scenes intact while modeling?

The only problem is that all the scenes will be updated with the layers you have selected/deselected and that is not the intention is it?
So the problem remains I right?

    • Group visibility and Scenes

It seems to me that the Scenes only can "see" the first level of groups. I am trying to hide a subgroup in one scenes. In fact several subsubgroups in several scenes. But it is not working. When I hide a subgroup in one scene and updating the scene, it is hidden in all scenes. Is there any way around it?
To use this function I need to make a flat group structure (no nesting of groups and component) and that is a bit anoying to me.

I guess the same techinque would work just as well with layers as of hidden geometry. Just deselect the layer you want to hide, then update all the scenes with the update button in the Scenes Manager. Select Visible Layers in the Scene Update to update all the scenes and the new Layer will be invisible in all the selected Scenes.

    • RE: [Plugin] Extrude Edges by Loft

I made some other exaples with five curves. Also in this example it seems to be a good idea to add a line to split the curves to force a 'start/end'. By spliting the curves with a line I found it possible to control the outcome every time. Intersecting the curves with a plane did not have any effect, I had to use a line to get the desired effect. Without splitting the curves the outcome seems to be unpredictabe. Is there a way to add anything to the script of the plugin to split the the curves ?

The form at the left is made with a line to split the curves. The other two are not. To the right the output changed every time even when using the exact same curves.

Like this, a simple line between the two circles. Yes, thats works very nice! Thanks a lot!

    • RE: [Plugin] Extrude Edges by Loft

Thanks for amazing new plugins TIG! I have been playing with them for some days now.

Lately I have been trying Extrude Edges by loft, and I thought I did not get the same result every time. I made an experiment: I did the same procedure 12 times in a row using the plugin. I drew one circle along the red axes and copied the circle copying&dragging it upwards the blue axes 3time the radius. Then I used the Extrude Edges by Loft plugin, clicking on the circles in the same order every time. I chose no to all the questions and took every shape as it.

I was hoping to get at straight shape sooner or later and the 12.th time I got the shape I was looking for. Now, is there any type of random function at work here? Is there a way to get the same straight shape every time by modifing the plugin somehow, or even decide how much the shape should twist every time you use the plugin. That would be an awsome feature!

    • RE: [Plugin] Extrude Edges by Face

Is there a plugin that can delete all the faces in a structure, leaving it with only the edges? I would like to use the nice Extrude Edges by Face plugin to create a typical steel-like structure.
