Hey guys I am desperate for very high resolution/quality satellite maps, I use Placemaker and I also use Nearmap but the resolution is not that great, I have tried using AI to upscale but that too does not really solve my issues. Is there another solution?

Hey Mike, I'm sure you figured this out already, but when you first create the attribute type a number with the inch mark like 0" or 0' in the value box and hit enter. This will set the unit for that attribute to inches. This only works for the first time a value is entered. After that first initial value, you will need to use the attribute info dialog to make changes. In addition, you can use 0 to set it to text (not "Default: Text") and 0cm to set it to centimeters. If anyone knows a shortcut for setting the unit to Decimal Number, I would love to hear it!

@markewi said: The Measurement box isn't too handy... You're right. At least if you don't learn how to use it. Read the Help article mitcorb linked to. If you want to move entities to a specific location relative to the origin, use [x,y,z]. If you want to move things to the ground plane, you can use [,,0]. What ever point you grab with the Move tool will be located at the ground plane.

Thanks guys, it was not a problem until recently and I am certain something has changed, this is a problem only with v 2016 rather than prior versions. Something I should have mentioned. BTW, these 'arcs' are several feet across.

That is most likely a result of the way the author of the plugin programmed the HTML for the web dialog, not a SketchUp issue per-se. It is possible to set things up in HTML so that a web page refuses to resize its contents.

Pull down or offsetting ? That is not the same thing! Scale * 1000 Seems works with Projection by Didier Bur But you must repair some little gaps ! [image: 8Uty_proj.jpg]

I use a Logitech MX Master. I have commands assigned to the forward and back buttons (on the side), a command for the bottom thumb button, and four commands assigned to gestures. I can draw line, erase, select, draw rectangle, rotate, move, and push/pull without touching the keyboard or toolbars.

Still not null match, pilou. Because both sculptris (btw, i use sculptris) and zbrush work wonderful. But in case of SU, both free and pro suffer from the same weaknesses: they are underdeveloped and the pro is still overpriced for what it offers. The point of this topic was to draw attention to how others sell their software: they meet price with quality. I expect by the time when SketchUp will reach the robustness of any other major software to cost like AutoCad. And by robustness i don't mean to be complicated, but to really do properly what is supposed to do already. -proper uv-mapping -fix scenes renaming bug -faster and more responsive LayOut -text mismatch fixed between SU and LO -text mismatch fixed in LO between edit mode and rendered mode -less bugsplats -some really important features introduced by default instead of being needed contributed plugins (like Layrrs Panel) ...and many others. Can you imagine SketchUp's price then? Like $$$$... and this was my point: zbrush can do much better and syill keeping price low. One more thing: zbrush users are a very narrow niche, another reason to increase price. SU can be used by artists, hobbysts, architects, engineergs, teachers, psychologists... etc. And your comparison would have been closer to reality if you had chosen Edison, not Tesla ... because Edison was a prick that used Tesla to make money and didn't repaid accordingly )) ...kind of what Trimble does with SketchUp.

@tig said: You cannot drag-and-drop files from Windows Explorer onto a program's window if that program is running as administrator. An application with a lower privilege cannot talk to a higher [admin] one. And weirdly Windows Explorer never runs as admin ! So try changing your SketchUp.exe properties > compatibility to NOT run as admin ! This might cause other issues [like permissions etc if you didn't initially install it as an admin] - BUT it will then allow drag-and-drop of Image files onto SketchUp ! I just came into the forum to tell you I solved the issue by unchecking "run as admin", and lo and behold, you've beat me to it! You've already replied. Thanks Tig! It works!

ok, dug through my notes from the last time this happened (with a 15.x update), and did this workaround Option 5: Open Windows Explorer and navigate to C:\Program Files\SketchUp\SketchUp 2015. Right-click on the file “ThumbsUp.dll” and select Rename. Rename the file to “ThumbsUp.old”. This will disable the drawing of SketchUp thumbnails in Explorer. Did it to both 2015 & 2016. Rebooted, hopefully this will fix it going forward. If any Trimble employees are here, PLEASE FIX THIS Thanks, Glenn

@jasonwd said: ... the dialogue box should have appeared and I can't for the life of me find it anywhere... for this bit, did you try 'Reset Workspace' ??? for the stubborn dxf/dwg imports install Teigha File Converter.app convert the files manually to dxf or have a look at jimfoltz's plugin freedxf... it uses Teigha File Converter [same engine as SU Pro] but with different setting to recover more items... john

@dave r said: Try updating Internet Explorer and clear the temporary internet files. As for downloading directly from the web, choose the version you need to suit the SketchUp version. [attachment=0:3iypz9za]<!-- ia0 -->Capture.PNG<!-- ia0 -->[/attachment:3iypz9za] thanks Dave for fast reply For your information, i have update my Internet Explorer. I already clear the temporary internet files. The warehouse then can be open, but after few trial, it cannot connect to the webpage again. thanks for the tip of choosing the version, I am unaware of that features since i normally download at the main page i will download from the webpage as optional FYI another workaround i did is installing Sketchup Make 2016, just to use the warehouse from the program. but for that, i need to save the file as Sketchup 2014. I cannot directly copy and paste ETC: i did notice that Sketchup 2016 64bit can preview the file, which cannot be done on Sketchup 2014

Thanks very much! That is very helpful. There isn't any way to figure out which objects are images in outliner, is there? Or some other option to view them?

I see what you're saying, deffo's not cool to change existing documents layering, but it probably is somehow linked. Send them a complaint e-mail, hopefully they can adjust the behavior so as to not change previously created documents' layering names.
