Subdividing with sketchup?
-
ok so I know there are subdivide plugins for sketchup already like artisian tools and or that new one catmull tool, but it seems that both of these do subdive but the break the original
formIE: When using it on a simple cube it turns the cube into a sphere. I just want to know if there is any way to just subdive the surfaces without transforming it.
like in maya u can subdivide the number of faces per face... by the width of it x(axis) or just by its y and or z or combinations between them and it wont transform it it simple gives it more faces. -
or this less complex free one SplitUp by Rich O Brien / Tig (?)

Hi
maybe Julia Christina Eneroth´s "Fractal Terrain Eroder" plugin could be interesting for you as well?
In addition to subdividing by triangulation by a desired number of iterations, the plugin also is able to deform the chosen face(s).SketchUp Plugins | PluginStore | SketchUcation

also take a look at "connect" tool from thomthom's quadface tools.. that gives you greater control on number/pinching/cornering of loops/topology!
