    where do you locate the alpha channel to turn on and off with vray 3 on sketchup? I try to save as a tif or png with my sky but get a transparent background - jpeg I have no problems but you don't save in jpeg if you can help it. Im pulling my hair out on this one looking for this needle

    I don't know about vray, but Thea measures that at surfaces areas and renders a graph. You can create an animation of this graph. Lightup does the same, but I think it's for artificial light only... maybe not.     If you start Render with OPENCL and then swap, it works. But in my gadgets the GTX 1070 appears with USED 0000MB. At least it worked. I thought my license was in trouble.

    Hi peerman, Yes, Ted's reply solved the issue. I made the Render Time = 0 and that solved the problem! I wished when i make it 'High Quality' preset, it automatically brings down the render time setting to 0 ... In the meantime i by-passed the problem by using bucket rendering.

    It seems that you are using progressive rendering mode for image sampling which needs a lot of time to reduce the nosie to certain threshold. Do you check twice that you are using bucket rendering mode? Best shiyan

    Thanks for the quick awnser. Well they are mapped on the right side of the plane... As they are component, i tried to map the material on each face,but it doesn't change.. UPDATE: It actually work perfectly when i restart sketchup completely, but only with the first imported files. if a import a second model, only the first one render well textured, the other is plain white.. even if it's the same model.

    I was having this same error on Mac and was able to solve it by downloading the License Server 4.3.1 ADV. Apparently this was just posted yesterday (Feb 9th). https://download.chaosgroup.com/

    Based off of the result image, it looks like a spotlight would work better than an omni light. Just have one spotlight pointing up and the other down. You can then control the light cone better to achieve the look you want. Alternately if you know the manufacturer of the light fixture you could go online and see if they have a supplied IES file to get the nice scallop affect of the reference photo.
