Thanks for the reply, @unknownuser said: I think the most important thing is to just be more careful when you model. SketchUp REALLY likes to fill in faces whenever it can. So try to be aware of that. Make sure to go back in and delete those unwanted faces. Ya, that's my current workflow and while it works it's nearly impossible to find everything until you get to max. I'm hoping there is a hotkey you can hold down to keep the line tool from drawing faces and only cut pre-existing geometry. Maybe there was a workflow for the pushpull tool in which it would boolean out all the degenerate faces as opposed to some (basically hoping I'm using it wrong) and I still can't pinpoint why it deletes the ones it does. Gamebryo is the game engine. Cool triangulation script.

Would one of these curves be closer to what you're looking for? [image: MxW7_arches.jpg] Neither was done using the Arc tool.

That shouldbe good. I have just got a new card: a 1 Gb nVidia 9600 and it hasn't caused any problems so far (I mean it's very good compared to what I've had so far).

Well, at least we seem to share the same interest of " making a little game". And more or less no idea of how to do this, whatsoever. " Something interactive " would also be cool, especially if it includes .50 cal machine gun ( just joking ). Anyway, I am glad you´re here - loking forward to seeing more of your work. Cheers!

"Model library" (as Dave says) i.e. the built in Component browser (Window menu). As long as you keep inserting components from external resources (not from inside the active model), SU will consider them different instances. This is normal as otherwise you could incidentally replace existing components with ones that have the same name somewhere else.

the .kmz format is a .zip file. inside is the .dae file, which is just .xml data. Inside that you can indeed find the component name that is user defined in SU. It should be possible to do some custom editing of that info. I'm not quite clear exactly what you have in mind though. Chris

simply: yes You can do that with nearly all tools in Sketchup. Try it for the move tool: Select an object, move it while holding down ie. the left arrow key. After dropping it, type in "2m", enter, and then "5x", enter.

Hm. I don't know those apps but they sound interesting. Anything that is more interactive than a video file is interesting nowadays.

I'm not too familiar with Word's image positioning tools either but as Rich says, if you double click on it, a more advanced "menu" pops up where there is a tab for positioning and you should be able to find an option where it doesn't position the images beside/below each other but you can stack them atop of each other (and then come the "bring to front" and such options).

@unknownuser said: There's one for the 'Duh' Thread. Thanks BTM And a very "speedy" way to do this with multiple faces is to use a tool which "autoselects" faces (like the PushPull or Move tool) and keep hovering over faces you want to get rid of while continuously hitting the Delete button. This is, of course, good for other purposes, too, like reversing faces and such provided you have set up a hot key for the function.

What I think is going on is that when exploding an image, a face is created which - in your case - is merged with the face of the house and the (default) colour overrides the image just exploded. Best would be to post the model like Remus suggests. You can also try to follow these steps; right click on the image > Texture > Position and (without doing anything else there) hit Enter. Select the Paint bucket tool and hold the Alt key pressed > Sample the positioned image apply the image material on that face. You may still need to position it a bit (use the method like above to get into the positioning menu)
