Hi, I'm new to LO. I would like to know how is the correct way to import cross sections from a SU model. Is there free step by step instructions? (not a manual which was not much help to me). I tried importing a section and the measurments on it were see but not the section itself. Grateful for quick help

I have a complex shape from which I want to cut out another complex section. after intersection the parts, when I erase the unwanted areas, the remaining part is not left with proper surfaces but rather holow and missing edges. What is the right way to do this?

Since I started using SU it has been on a version 6. Recently I downloaded for a friend SU and it is the newer version-7. I right away saw some differencs in the icons etc. Could someone tell me what are the main differencs between the versions, since I would preffer to stay with my version-6, but will update if there is a good reason too. I found a ruby which will divide a selected line into a wanted number of sections.this is just what I need, but I have never used a ruby.Can anyone send me to where I can learn all about the ruby world, how do I dowmload it into SU and then use it. are they all safe to try out?

Thank you everyone.I'm familiar with the use of tape measure tool. I still can't get it to work. I think I'll try to reinstall SU. I'll let you know what happens.

Hi Eric. Thanks for your input. I do have A + next to tape measure cursor. What else can this be?

I downloaded the SU 7 and when trying to use tape measure as parralel to existing line it doesn't seem to show the construction line. It must be related to one of the settings. Has anyone had this and can point me in the right direction.

are you saying there is a way to lock a group with a password? it sounds the simplest, rather than exporting drawings to other formats and hoping the person has a program that will open it. can you tell me how it's done?

Hi Arc. In my SU pro I can not export into html.how do I do that? Can the model be seen in 3D and then be orbit around it?
