      Yup, the kmz format.

      Now for the kmz format, you cannot control how SU names either meshes or textures. Apart from groups and components, you cannot even give names to geometry in SU so you either follow modelhead's suggestion or find some other way to trick your export.

      Okay -- will find another way -- thank you for answering!

    • RE: Rename mesh?

      I'm using the regular File>Export>3DModel, the goal being to see if it's possible to export a named mesh and a second named mesh to use as a proxy. Just curious if this is possible from within SketchUp (maybe mesh names are not exposed?) Thanks

    • RE: Rename mesh?

      Thanks for the reply--but components don't do the trick for my purposes. I'm trying to get at the geometry name which is exported... hopefully from within the SketchUp interface.
      <geometry id="mesh1-geometry" name="mesh1-geometry">

      Is there a list of named meshes, aside from components and groups?

    • Rename mesh?

      Hi,

      How do you rename a mesh ("mesh1-geometry")? I'm trying to get 2 meshes with specific names, and the only way I can come close is to use Groups. Think I'm missing something obvious (forgive me if this is covered elsewhere--I did some searching and found nothing).

      Thanks
