Spent the better part of yesterday getting this gear right (I hope). It is a 24 tooth bevel gear 22.5 mm diam (drawn in centimetres). Gear E in my diagram above. SPGears created a fairly close model. I had to compare that model to my desired cross section and manipulate it into shape. I had to get rid of the overhangs on each tooth to avoid any supports. That was the tedious part. (I'll show how later today) Thankfully SPGears creates each tooth as a circular array of one tooth, so editing is relatively easy. Then I had to make a single generic hub as the 5 gears, plus the other smaller gear (scaled down a bit) have different hubs. That part was far easier. An SPGear is actually a group of 2 nested groups, the set of teeth, and the hub, done in a strange way, but hey, it works. I made it a component of the 2 nested groups. To make sure the gears mesh correctly (fingers crossed) I duplicated the SPGear and turned it 90 deg. I drew an axial line to the vertex within the component for alignment purposes. I then turned it 90 degrees and mated them at the vertex. I also rotated the vertical gear 7.5 deg (24 teeth) to properly mesh the 2 gears. That resulted in a large gap between teeth. By eye I moved the vertical gear along blue and red axis (equally) till I got a nice mesh with a bit of play. Then adjusted (shortened) the vertex end of the axial line accordingly. There were tiny overlaps. So I had to scale the 2 face ends of the teeth a bit to clean up the mesh. Only after all that was I able to redraw the large end to eliminate the overhangs. [image: 1760119413639-24-tooth-bevel-gear.jpg] I cannot yet print a pair to test as I do not yet have a printer (long story, and it's not the $$$) Later.......

Animation data are stored in the model. All data related to movements, cameras and visual effects refer to objects of the model via a unique ID. The .animator file is simply a backup file, in case something is corrupted in the model. The fromat is a serialization of the working data structures in the plugin. So, not really designed for a clean export. Exporting the animation would first require that you are able to export the container objects (Groups, ComponentInstance), with their transformations.

Good to meet you @pixelcruncher If you have a look at the video I linked to in my previous comment, it's very easy. You just describe it with words, and it doesn't affect the rest of the render. ComfyUI is a tool that helps you work with AI models, so you'd need to train a model (e.g. Qwen or Seedream) to do these kinds of operations for you precisely. Yes, we do have an API (you can test it here https://rapidapi.com/myarchitectai-team-myarchitectai-team-default/api/architecture-rendering-api) but we didn't include the editing tools in it yet as they're still in beta.

What are you trying to achieve? Could you share any reference images? To use Flowify, it’s not necessary to work with solid objects, so there’s no need to check with the solid inspector. However, your wavy wall should be made of a clean quad mesh. If you created it using Corviloft, it should be fine, as long as the "top and bottom" and "left and right" curves have the same number of segments. Flowify requires quad geometry, not solid objects. You can verify this by turning on the hidden geometry. For additional guidance, you can follow this Flowify tutorial: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zCFUCE7Bb4Q

any timeline to fix the preferences -> file locations? regardless of the setting, it simply shows the default install folders. then i have to remove those and replace with junctions to get them to point to the locations i want (versus whatever the program wants) so materials ,components, and styles are still not responding to the settings in preferences.

@fredo6 After three days of work to figure out what was causing SketchUp to crash, I discovered that there's an incompatibility between the S4U plugins and the new Fredo libraries. Now I have the 2026 version working perfectly.

It works just fine in v2026. I just tried it, have you ? The PluginStore listing might say compatibility up to v2025 but that's because I haven't updated the page yet. [EDIT: just added it] Until a few days ago there was no v2026 or v2025 checkbox on the PluginStore !

@fredo6 It's a late reply from me, but thanks for the explanation. I'm honestly impressed you built the algorithm from scratch!

You are confounding the calculated circumference of a circle, with the perimeter of a many sided polygon. They are distinct. A circle (or an closed ArcCurve) is not a Drawingelement subclass object. They are virtual helper objects that are actually a series of edges with some extra data attached that is used by the GUI.

@thomthom Same error as the others above. - When running "List textures in console", an empty console appears (in SketchUp 2025). Any solutions?

Foliage like this will reduce the temperature of the homes it is attached to so that alone makes it worthwhile.. Any water savings from recycling brown water will be a bonus.

Thank you mates. As mentioned, I tried to stand at the balancing point... Somewhere, I think is the optimum of function, form, construction, psychology, etc. Biomimicry is really powerful, agreed.
