@pixelcruncher said: Hey Mike, I'm sorry to hear you're running into these issues with Rayscaper. Would you mind sending me this scene so I can have a look? Summarizing your woes: Auto-exposure is behaving strangely. Mike, I'm still not sure what you mean by this. ************Auto exposure doing funky things is a fraction where the interior and exterior are mismatched. The exterior tends towards overexposure when the interior is properly or slightly underexposed**********.** Geometry does not appear in the renders. Sometimes geometry just fails to export to Rayscaper, that or it is deleted. Restart can fix this sometimes. Viewport shows CPU, while you have enabled GPU rendering. Simples, Sometimes the render window shows CPU rendering with my selecting it. Rendering fails. Mostly when the CPU method is self appointed, nothing in the render window at all. I think it's easier if you send me the scene and, preferably, the logs when such a render failure occurs (https://www.rayscaper.com/getting-help/report-a-bug/#1-export-the-log-files), so I can try to reproduce/fix these problems. Thanks, Thomas

One more go tonight. I had Sketchup close with Rayscaper when I closed Rayscaper which is not the first time. I still need to adapt a few things, perhaps change the render view. G'night folks, stay safe out there.[image: 1769333169326-4-1024s-1994-x-1171-6136469ri-2m-52s-gpu-resized.png]

I often find myself in this situation when my partner is away for a few days. Then when she comes home she tries to kill me.

ATM, there are two windows both on the west (Right) of this render. You may see on. Seeing as I do not 'do' window ledges, the window openings are not readily apparent. There is a logic to this. I frankly got fed up to my molars with females mostly, putting ornaments or flowers on ANY flat surface. I like to be able to open windows without relocating tat every time. I know, fully paid up member of the annoyed ol' git fraternity/club. I am looking at a method to introduce my favourite natural light system here, the sun/solar tube. I shall have to see how effective it will be.

In order to get this topic back on track, I have created a new thread to discuss the materials issue(s). Here is a link to that thread https://community.sketchucation.com/topic/164671/create-new-or-adjust-materials

OK, had an issue with what seemed to be lost textures but, was a return to back face issues. Something I have not seen for a while now. Probably a Rayscaper issue but not the end of the world, I usually check these things as a rule. This one bloody unit was an import and I missed the use of back face in one cabinet door. Anyway, the downstairs is cramped but not really that tight when seating is deflated/stored and the folding dining table/chairs can be brought out for a meal with friends. A drop down cinema type screen for film night with snacks easily catered for. Hot water is as designed via a Quooker type system to save space and improve economy. Heating via passive home and possibly a ground pump but passive should not need that really. Shower is electric and solar panels on the roof to power it. A pull out drawer under the stairs for batteries. No boiler, gas or electric will save space and energy uptake. I am considering uploading the bare bones as a challenge but, more on that later. @tuna1957 That is a common theme for most of us I believe. I go a bit cold when a model frustrates or I just lose motivation. Later I go on and try again.

Sorry, wanting to see how closely, or not, the photoreal mat setting in Sketchup can approximate to a render. Not too badly for folk who do not want the added complexity of a render program. Approximating a studio might prove useful. Curiosity alone.
