@Irteza What Plugin are you referring to ?*** DAE export is a standard built-in format ?? You can set up how the exported file is made using the Options in the File>Export[3d] dialog... This is a very old thread... Please [re]explain what you are doing step-by-step... ***I see you double posted ! Again that's an old thread... Try running it with the Ruby Console open and report errors... I suggest you consolidate your posted into the plugin's thread...

Ok I got to thinking that might not have been the right response. The arch is already engaged with other geometry? Window>Entity Info came to mind, and reset segment number. But this is just speculation from a distance. Still may not be what you want.

@tomb85 said: ...When i copy and move the same image somewhere on the same plane, the image is no longer glued onto this plane, and is no longer visible. Just like the same you get when I do rightclick on the image > unglue..... After "manipulating" the image it ends up unglued on the other side of the face. A workaround to copy (instead of multiple imports) the image and have it still glued to the same or any other face is: isolate the image plus a small oversized portion of the face that it is glued to. So draw a rectangle around it, preferably starting at the image's origin and extending the other side(s) of the image. (you need to be able to select that small face and it's edges later). Select little rectangular face plus image, and copy to (on) any other face. select (double click) on the small face to get face+edges and delete. the remaining image has the same 'glue to' propertie as the original. You could even save the small face+imageas a (not necessarily 'glue to') component for multiple use later. Both methods are simple and fast.

You need full permissions to the folder containing the SKP and the Plugins folder/files - SKMtools folder/files etc downwards!

Nice wood texture, by the way (thanks ) As TIG says, it loads just fine for me, too. Can it be a video card/driver issue (you never know)? Try to disable hardware acceleration under Window > Preferences > OpenGL to see (although the image is not particularly large)

Yeah it's an on and off problem. If I go and check uncheck stuff in preferences it works a while than it appears again.

I am having the same problem. It is driving me crazy. I want to rename a unique component, don't even get to write anything, just click on the Definition Name field and it pops the dreadded message. I also discovered that it pops up only the first time you hit the Definition Name field. If you deselect and reselect the same component, go to Def.Name field, it will not show the warning.

I don't want to import into vectorworks, then have to manually remove all broken lines... time consuming... Have you looked at "Remove Lonely Vertices"? http://forums.sketchucation.com/viewtopic.php?f=323&t=37619&p=332047&hilit=remove+lonely+vertices#p332047 Use it as you work and when you export.

Since this is really off the topic of the original post, I split it out and moved it to the Newbie forum. So take a look at this from the help files. @unknownuser said: but then i stil need to make differt layers and turn them off to make a scene from a component that is inside or between oder components. or am i wrong Not entirely wrong. You can make layers for each component if you wish. Depending upon the model, you may not need to make one for every component. You might create a layer for each type of part in the model. If it is a piece of furniture such as a table, you might make one layer for legs, another for the top, a third for the skirting boards and so on. @unknownuser said: i tough when ther wil be a plugin that can make it work that you can open a component whit the view mode hide rest of the model switch on and then you can make a scene of it and it whil save this the selection this would make it very easy to make scene's from different components! There's no need for a plugin to do layer management. You can do this via the native layers manager with no problem. Follow the guidelines in the link I posted above. Make layer associations for components or groups but leave the entities (edges and faces) within associated with Layer 0. Leave Layer 0 as the active layer at all times. Using the table example, suppose you want to look at a leg component. turn off the visibility for the skirting boards and the top and you'll see the legs. Orbit and zoom as needed to see the detail you need. then make a scene. If you want to look at the leg from a different point of view, orbit and zoom again as needed. Make another scene. Note, as long as you want to look at the leg, you need do nothing further with layers. If you want to look at the skirting boards next, turn off the leg layer and turn on the skirting board. Then create a new scene or scenes as needed. It's pretty easy but if you do it incorrectly, you can get the model messed up.

as it turns out the one on the right did work out much better in this instance and after flipping just a few faces it seemed almost perfect. [image: jiTe_Capture1.PNG] [image: 4JfM_Capture2.PNG] the one on the left however had some major issues! go figure. [image: JCWh_Capture3.PNG]

One partial solution to this problem that I use is to explode everything, groups components, the lot. In most cases it will be beyond peoples ability or patience to extract elements from the model. Baz

Thanks everyone for the very kind help -- yes, the "flicker" part was what I was missing! It's always the stuff that's so obvious the tutorials don't bother mentioning, that trips me up!

@unknownuser said: Then picked up the line again, simplified this line to remove excess vertices, dips and bumps before finally doing the follow me and keep road Good point. I should have done that. @gaieus said: ... the problem seems to have solved itself. Thanks heaps. @gaieus said: One thing is worth noting here: with the stamp tool, you cannot stamp surfaces that have vertical faces (i.g. curbs). You always need to "cheat" a little bit by adding 1-2 degree deviance from true vertical. And thanks again.
